It is not enforceable law. Legislating stipulated permission requirements to exercise a right is null and void legislation. The only requirement for the exercise of rights is to not initiate non-consensual harm on others. Everything else is an infringement.

That really sucks. You are going to be very limited on your choices now. And Massachusetts already limited a lot of the best guns available. But there were some new models that didn't meet their definition that was really nice, and people used to be able to build any kind of firearms you wanted. But all of that would make you a criminal after today. It's a sad day in MA for people who enjoy their second amendment rights.

A friend in Bridgewater, MA tried to turn in his gun application a week and 1/2 ago and the police dept REFUSED to take the app. No explanation. Now I see why but how unconstitutional!! 🤔

I know at least one case made it to the Supreme Court, and they didn't even take the case. That's probably because you could still legally build your own AR's/AK's, etc. And you could still buy one in a private sale. But all that is out the window now, there is no way to legally obtain any of those model firearms, and many more commonly owned rifles, pistols, and shotguns. If the Supreme Court doesn't take the case now, then there's no hope for MA. Because they took every other option off the table for legal gun owners to legally obtain the weapons otherwise banned from being sold at FFL's.

Hello 2A friends. Let me up date my LTC time line in Boston. I applied and dropped off my application BPD on June 5. Received the phone call on August 28 at 6:50 pm to set up fingerprinting. Make sure you pay attention to your phone. They will call you only no emails. I was fingerprinted BPD on September 5 and it took 15 minutes. They give you a copy of your application after you sign their copy. Then you’re done. The officer said I’m all set. Fingerprints will be sent off today. Keep a look out in the mail for your LTC.👍🏾

There isn’t anything Goal could do to stop them. A bill gets introduced it gets voted on if your state reps all vote for it and it gets pushed along through the senate that’s it. I believe early on goal went to the committee and they were being unreasonable so goal basically said F you were not gunna help you with the wording etc to strengthen the bill good luck.

I really hope they figure out this new training thing. I’m really getting scared thinking that we won’t be able to get the new training for months and on top of that now it needs to go in and get certified by the state police and then sent back to you so we can only pray that they don’t allow this to be a four month process to get your safety certificate before you can even apply to get your gun license.

Mass state police firearms licensing sent me (an instructor) an e🎉mail that any courses held after 08/01 must meet the new requirements (that they haven't created or defined yet & don't plan to have ready until the law goes into effect). Mean while the law doesn't go into effect until the end of October. So they just put all instructors out of business until the end of October at the earliest.

I'm still trying to find out if i can go hunting in Mass as a non resident. No semi auto guns for us I know that already, shotguns included. They are saying muzzle loaders with inline ignition are now firearms and need to be on the "roster" but I can't find out if it's legal for non residents to use them deer hunting this year.
