We arrived at the beautiful island of Maui this week where we were greeted with a fun Honolua swell and plenty of sunshine. This was an epic week away with my family and looking forward to being on the North Shore of Oahu tomorrow.

I surfed Ho’okipa back in 1999, my first trip to any of the Hawaiian islands. It’s known as one of the best wind surfing wave sailing spots when the wind kicks in the afternoon but I did surf it in the morning. I’m used to waves like that where I live in the East Coast. Anyway, glad you enjoyed it.

Hi Lakey &Tom. I’ve subbed for you , great content and good to watch. You and I share the same injury Lakey and what really helped me was glute activation , squats and lunges and every second day 20 minutes of sprints. What didn’t help at all was cycling/ exercise bike! Cycling tightened everything back up again. I’ve haven’t touched a bike in 3years and it absolutely made a difference to me and my recovery. I've used FCS my whole career. Thought I'd change things up and finding futures allow more hold through my carves and bottom turns. Now I just need to find my favorite future fin.... John Johns and the CI are my top 2 ATM

Haha yes they are HUGE! There is actually a new Board bag system that attaches to your suitcase and is super easy to wheel around so we've just started using that. DB makes them... Def saves the back a little haha

Yes! You're friend is 100% correct. I love the FCS AM's but feel the futures have just a little more hold. I actually love the FCS AM's at a wave like lowers where some extra flex isn't a bad thing.

That first spot was Ho'okipa and the second spot was Honolua Bay. Both super fun options but approx 1 hour drive between the 2... Hope that helps

Maui is windy ,only has couple surf breaks , tourist everywhere and i mean everywhere, one road in and one road out traffic, too many Haoles not enough local people

Lakey, who do you fly to get all those boards to Hawaii...??? I just flew with Delta and they made me ship all my boards separately because my boardbag was more than 115 inches long. Total BS...not like the old days
