If it is true, and they regret, why did they correct at the time they happened, I.e. Oprah, Netflix, interviews. They had ample opportunity to walk back their comments. Seems to me they "regret" now because none of their ventures seem to be working out.

I might be more inclined to believe a genuine contrition on Meghan’s part IF the first wronged family member she apologized to after cruelly abusing him was her own father. “Apologizing” to the RF at this point smacks of being motivated by nothing more than her own self-interest due to the colossal failure of her various attempts to capitalize on a marital relation to them. As there is nothing for her to gain from a rapprochement with her father, it looks like the man will sadly pass without ever seeing his grandchildren or speaking to his daughter again. It’s disgraceful.

Those insinuations and allegations in that interview were prepared in advance with the interviewer completely complicit, and said with malice and intent to do as much damage as possible. And no, I don't believe meg regrets what she said, she regrets that it didn't have the desired effect, quite the opposite. And it took nearly 4 years to realise this? They must be really desperate for money.

They’re regretting how their interviews were perceived and interpreted, not regretting their actions and words. I doubt there’d be any form of “regret” whatsoever had their worldly endeavours seen any success.
