Hear me out: Mephiston talks about a dark truth that only he of his chapter knows, and only he alone can bare. For if his chapter knew it would be their undoing. What if that truth is Sanguinius slew Horus after succumbing to the rage? Then turned on the Emperor mortally wounding him. Mephiston knows this because he’s the only one to survive the rage with his sanity intact so only he has seen the end.

Sanguinius was seen by Dante himself in the warp when he was dying with the Sanguinor appearing first. And then Sanguinius himself appearing to Dante. My thoughts are that when Sanguinius died his soul was split in 3 parts, the first was the Sanguinor as the pure and untained part of him, the second the Dark Angel and his Black Rage unleashed on his sons, this is his fury and rage kept in check within him. The 3rd is the shard on the Vengeful Spirit bridge being the Moral compass of the Legion and why some chapters like the original Blood Angels are pure of purpose and others like the Angels Vermillion have dark secrets. The moral compass is my guess but the 3rd shard could be something else. They have also gained more power over the 10k years as Sanguinius is the most praised Primarch and has his own holiday so he gets trillions of people worshipping him every year and with the Warp tear now he is free to take a more active roll just like the Emperor.

Mephiston role is vital. As he now contains the Dark Angel, it’s influence over the Blood Angel’s Legion is diminished. Though Mephiston struggles with this arrangement, he can endure it for he is the only being to come back from the Black Rage. He also now has power equal to the Primarchs, making him an incredible ally to Warmaster Gulliman.

Maybe Sanguinor and Mephiston are two apects of Sanguinius. The Emp's mind is fragmeneted and the Primarchs are reflections of their father so maybe he fragmented too. If the Emperor goes full warp god, maybe he can bring Sanguinius back as one of his "angels" (daemons) and reclaim both aspects.

I'd like to see that instead of this silly notion of there only being Dark or Light, that the Blood Angels learn, that both exist within everyone, and learning to live and find a balance rather than always going to Black/White extremes, the path forward to accept and learn to live with both as part of you. Everyone has a beast inside of them, everyone has dark thoughts, the possibility of cruelty, anger, fury, loss of control, it is learning to live with the good and the bad in you, that really makes you human, and it's standing back up when you fail and fall, and not doing the same mistakes again that help you become the strongest and best you can be.

It depends; if the Black Library authors and GW choose to follow the path of some other fictional universes then yes. There are several series in which worship provides power to the worshipped being or force. Two examples are Mercedes Lackey’s Valdemar series though, only in a side duo of novels is this actually mentioned: Oathbound and Outhbreaker are the two books; in them the protagonists twice defeat a demon trying to become a god by attracting worshippers. In TSR/Wizards of the Coast D&D setting of the Forgotten Realms the gods are empowered by worship. The more worshippers they have the stronger they become. These two examples show how the story of Sanguinius might play out, depending on how GW wants things to go. If they choose otherwise then the answer becomes a definitive, No!

Rho, I think you nailed it in the head when you said the conflict will never end. Mephiston will become the Angel of Darkness and asend to a being like the Sanguinor, but this will balance the struggle of the bloodline. Blood Angels will not "Fall" to the black rage again, but it will become a central part of what the Chapter is. The rage could bring problems with the Inquisition, comparison to world eater berserkers could be made. However, since it would be under control the biggest problem may be the blood drinking which could be revealed as the Inquisitors take a closer look at the Legion. I do not see the Blood Angels ever being rid of the Rage or thrist but if Mephiston can embody the Angel of Darkness instead of being taken over by it, then there is hope. Even more so if it leads to the return of the Angel in a more concrete form.

Really? That sucks. I haven't played for about four years, but back then Dante could be used to absolutely destroy. I used to pair him with Astorath and a big squad of Death Company. You have a target, drop a few pods with Tactical Marines (using a combo of pods and sergeants to supply homing beacons for teleport and deep strike), teleport the Terminators in, then drop Dante and the gang behind the line. Dante's squad is protected because the Frontline keeps the enemy busy, and then next turn they assault over the line. Then, I would Hit And Run back behind the line, only to assault again next turn and get all those juicy assault bonuses over and over. I called it 'hammer and anvil', and you could totally wreck shit. I have no idea how it is these days, though. I hear Blood Angels are nerfed, but they used to say that before, too.
