Correction : Calcium present in milk is not highly bioavailable because milk also contains good amount of phosphorus and which alters the absorption of Calcium. As we know phosphorus is calcium forms calcium phosphate which makes it unabsorbable in gut. So it's better to get calcium form the food which contains more calcium than phosphorus. Instead of daily milk go for fortified plant based milks which lile almond milk which is a good source of calcium and aslo contains low amount of phosphorus and you can also get calcium from other sources like broccoli, figs, kale and turnip.

Actually domestication of animals hepp increase their population. They are taken care of, fed well and if they are raised ona large farm, they get a good area to roam around as well. Nodoubt cattles have the largest population among land animals. They produce a lot of milk and their cakves need only a small amount, the remaining its human caregiver takes for himself. This arrangement has been for around 8000-10000 years. How is it cruel, please explain
@prabhleen58 ай бұрын
@souravyadav7562 how were those domesticated? By constantly keeping them pregnant, we humans are getting the milk out of them. Increasing their population multifold. And the moment cows, Buffalo, stop giving milk, we butcher them. And that my friend is cruelty. Even bill gates said, cattle population is a cause of climate change, because 85% farming is done to feed those cattles. And trust me my friend, those animals are not able to feed themselves through open farms, where they can roam. Atleast not in north indian region where i am from. Lets become vegan for a while and cut down on 421ppm carbon emission before our humanity vanishes the third time due to carbon emission apocalypse.

Listen man, one thing is true that the dairy includes so much animal cruelty.
@Baronnax2 ай бұрын
That isn't something fundamental to dairy itself, but horrible dairy farming practices like factory farms. Most people in rural areas source their milk locally from cows being raised by their fellow-villagers, cows that aren't usually mistreated. Obviously this may not be practical for city-dwellers, but cooperatives like Amul, Verka and Nandini can help source milk from ethically-reared cows and buffaloes.
@rohit2sharma952 ай бұрын
@@Baronnax Yeah that is also true. But in the rural areas as well the modern animal farming is being promoted at the ground level by the veterinary companies (which is not fair for animals IMO).
@Baronnax2 ай бұрын
@@rohit2sharma95 that's a fair point, but again, the problem lies in the dairy farming techniques and not milk production itself (unlike meat production). It is possible to rear milch cattle ethically, the problems that need addressing lie in the industry and aren't inseparable from milk consumption.

Bro please do some reaserch before saying anything. I don't even know that girl or support her. But milk is dangerous and not only because of lactose. There are many reasons why we should not consume milk or milk products. specially people living in cities, lactose intolerance and many other reasons. Edit:- because some people are blind that they can't see my reply which I gave in a descriptive way. As someone who grew up consuming milk daily directly or indirectly. I discovered disturbing facts that changed my perspective. Curd, paneer, kadhi, and kheer are my favourites but after talking to some doctors not just the vegan ones. And researching myself on Google, Watching videos of many doctors from both perspectives. I have come to my conclusion which is mentioned below 👇🏻 And after leaving milk I have noticed changes in my health. So it's not only about research but I have tried it too. *Harmful Effects of Milk Consumption* * Hormonal Imbalance: Dairy farming's widespread use of hormonal injections and drugs disrupts human hormone balances, leading to various health issues. * Acne and Skin Problems: Milk consumption is linked to acne, eczema, rosacea, and other skin issues due to its hormonal and inflammatory effects. * Cancer Risks: Milk sugar can increase ovarian and prostate cancer risks, while casein in cow's milk may promote tumor growth. * Digestive Issues: Many experience digestive problems, such as celiac disease, Crohn's, and lactose intolerance, due to milk's difficult-to-digest proteins and sugars. *High Blood Pressure: A review in Progress in Cardiovascular Disease looked at multiple clinical trials and observational studies and found that a plant-based diet reduces the risk of hypertension by 34%. A review published in JAMA Internal Medicine looked at 39 studies and found that vegetarian diets were associated with lower systolic and diastolic blood pressures, compared with omnivorous diets. A study in the Journal of Geriatric Cardiology concluded that consuming a diet that is mostly or exclusively plant-based appears beneficial for both the prevention and treatment of hypertension. Why? Fruits and vegetables are rich in potassium, which helps lower blood pressure. Plant products are also generally low in fat and sodium and are free of cholesterol.Avoiding meat, dairy products, and added fats also reduces the blood's viscosity (or "thickness"), which makes the blood easier to pump. This also brings down blood pressure. * Low Stomach Acid: Milk consumption can exacerbate low stomach acid, leading to malabsorption of essential nutrients. * Evolutionary Mismatch: Human digestive systems are designed for human milk, not cow's milk, making absorption inefficient. * Molecular Differences: Cow's milk proteins, fats, and sugars vary significantly from human milk, causing potential health issues. * Scarlet fever. *Psoriasis. * Milk allergy also causes anaphylaxis (a severe life threatening reaction) * Septic Sore Throat. *Autoimmune diseases. * Alzheimer's Diseases *An observational study out of Sweden found that higher milk intake was associated with greater incidence of bone fracture.Most research shows that drinking milk does not mean a good bone health. *Dairy Farming Concerns* * Ignoring Cows' Natural Dietary Needs * Over-Milking Beyond Infancy * Prioritizing Profit Over Consumer Health *Nutrient Absorption* - Human infants: 90-100% efficient at absorbing human milk nutrients - Cow's milk: 20-50% efficient at absorbing nutrients - Adult humans: less efficient due to lactase enzyme deficiency and altered gut microbiome. *Cancer Risk Associated with Dairy Consumption* *The China Study (1990s)* Dr. T. Colin Campbell's research demonstrated a strong correlation between casein intake and liver cancer in rats. *Lancet Oncology (2010)* Meta-analysis of 12 studies found: - High dairy consumption increased prostate cancer risk by 21% - Each 400g/day increase in dairy intake raised risk by 9% *World Health Organization (2015)* Classified processed meat, including some dairy products, as "carcinogenic to humans" (Group 1), citing links to: - Colorectal cancer - Prostate cancer - Breast cancer *Gopalan and Madhavan (1967)* Found casein accelerates cancer tumor growth in experimental animals. *Key Points* 1. Casein, a protein in cow's milk, may promote cancer growth. 2. Dairy consumption potentially increases prostate cancer risk. 3. Processed dairy products classified as carcinogenic. 4. Early research indicated casein accelerates tumor growth. When clinical mastitis is detected, the cow is given an intramammary infusion of antibiotic, and her milk must be kept out of the food supply. Selling milk contaminated with antibiotics can lead the producer abroad to lose his permit. Not so in India where there are no permits to begin with. Should you be drinking this milk, no matter what label the company has? Milk and other dairy products are infected with Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus agalactiae - both the most common agents for mastitis infections. In terms of total milk consumption (2020 data) the top countries are 1. United States: 27.7 billion kg (61 billion lbs) 2. India: 22.7 billion kg (50 billion lbs) 3. China: 13.8 billion kg (30.4 billion lbs) 4. Brazil: 10.3 billion kg (22.7 billion lbs) 5. Russia: 9.2 billion kg (20.3 billion lbs) * PROTEIN DEFICIENCY: 1. India: 60% of children under 5 years old (Lancet, 2019) 2. Pakistan: 55% (National Nutrition Survey, 2018) 3. Bangladesh: 50% (Journal of Nutrition, 2019) 4. Nigeria: 45% (Journal of Food Science, 2018) 5. Ethiopia: 40% (Ethiopian Journal of Health Sciences, 2019) * CALCIUM DEFICIENCY: 1. India: 70% of population has inadequate calcium intake (Journal of Nutrition, 2018) 2. China: 50-60% (Chinese Journal of Preventive Medicine, 2019) 3. Indonesia: 45% (Journal of Southeast Asian Studies, 2018) 4. Vietnam: 40% (Vietnamese Journal of Preventive Medicine, 2019) 5. Kenya: 35% (Journal of Nutrition and Metabolism, 2018) *BONE PROBLEMS (OSTEOPOROSIS) 1. India: 20-30% of population affected (Journal of Clinical Densitometry, 2018) 2. China: 15-20% (Osteoporosis International, 2019) 3. United States: 10-15% (National Osteoporosis Foundation, 2020) 4. Japan: 10-15% (Journal of Bone and Mineral Metabolism, 2019) 5. Brazil: 8-12% (Brazilian Journal of Rheumatology, 2018) The myth that only some people are lactose intolerant is wrong because in India 65% and in Aisa it lies between 63% to 90% across the countries. So 65% is not some, more than a half population of India are lactose intolerant. Conclusion of the data: High rate of milk computation in India, United States, China, Brazil still high rate in bone problems. Milk did anything good ? In Protein and calcium deficiency India is number 1 . Why ? Why are we deficient even after having milk daily? Why do Indian suffer from bone problems? My suggestions - * Conduct thorough research, considering multiple perspectives. * Consult healthcare professionals. * Understand individual tolerance and health needs. * Explore dairy alternatives and nutrition lifestyle changes. These are some credible sources where you can read and can have more elaborated information about milk. * National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) * World Health Organization (WHO) * Harvard School of Public Health * Peer-reviewed journals like Journal of Dairy Science and Food Chemistry And one more thing my mother is patient of ulcerative colitis. Her doctor gave a proper diet plan in 2007 which included no milk and obviously vegetarian diet was mandatory. The doctor is not vegan. doctor said her don't consume milk. So it's not about a trend or something.
