Warning...all con in this commentary. California kid here. Grew up in Sacramento. What heat? Little Leauge baseball in summer - 105 degrees F. We moved to Roseville in 2006 when the corner of Fiddyment and Baseline still had a painted stop sign. The influx of new people reminds us of when we lived in Elk Grove. To be fair to Elk Grove, at least they had decent sized lots. We bought a new home there in 1990 (1600 sq ft $110K ) and planted one redwood and two cypress trees along the back fence, with plenty of room. We now live along the Blue Oaks Blvd corridor. Used to be just a road, now it's 3 lanes each way and a major route for all the new West Park and West-West-West villages to access Hwy 65 and the Fairway Drive shop-'til-you-drop extravaganza. Along Blue Oaks, between Fiddyment and Woodcreek Oaks there is some kind of audio tunnel phenom of traffic noise - reflected off the homes and apartments butted up against the road. There are accelerating Japanese motorcycles and muscle cars that treat it like a raceway later in the evening, waking us up well after midnight 7 days per week (Hello Roseville PD?). During the day it's not as bad, but the evening noise is replaced by the daytime emergency vehicles with their sirens blaring. Ambulances, cops, fire trucks? How can there be so many emergencies in a medium-sized town? Never heard this in Elk Grove. How about these "beautiful walking trails"? Ah,...nature. Look out! Here comes another kid, speeding on an electric bike - too lazy (and soon to be obese) to ride a regular bike - they have to have the electric version. 30 mph on a walking trail? But more tech is always better, right? Sorry to be such a downer, but this town has just grown too much to be called "The All-American City" it used to be (an actual 1963 award by the National Civic League). It just feels like a giant bedroom community with poor public transportation (so, MORE cars) built around an endless linear shopping mall. We are moving (again), and to give you a hint where...check out some KZbin videos with the theme of "Slow Travel". Good luck, newcomers. G

Have you been to Florida ? How’s your dry heat compared to humid heat
@LivinginSacramentoTV2 күн бұрын
We have been to Florida a couple times but it didn't seem like the humidity was that bad but I think one time was in April and the other time in December. We did have a few clients come during the dead heat of our summer when it was 107 and they said that it was better because it felt like 80 degrees back home. Not sure if that helps at all or not.

Roseville was once a great place to live before the influx of people. My advice is to avoid this place as it has now become the bay area 2.0. It only goes downhill from here.

That’s a reach. Plus there’s many peaceful places in the bay itself. Roseville is still a great place to raise a family.

Lived in Roseville off Cirby Drive 1994 to 2005. Left area so grandchild could go to safer and better constructed schools. Loved it back then but taxes were just getting higher and higher. Reasons to stay got less and less. One point is real estate is hyped up, very over priced.
