Try using the Yongnuo YN50mm, it is very cheap and very good! Something you should check it out!

I do want to try that lens. Only thing is, I'm not sure if that thing will last a long time. Over time it might pay itself off to buy the real canon version.

Of course, your footage would be better (knowing from playing with Red cameras). My biggest point was not letting gear lust prevent you from making progress in making good thoughtful content with what we already have. I mean let's be real, looking at a 50mm prime for 20 minutes isn't doing me any favors. This was mostly a reminder for myself that I thought would also be helpful to someone else who's going through the same thing as I. But yeah, those Reds...CRISPY.
