15:29 ok about the stainless steel trim around side window to back ! i know that seasons 1, 5, 6,7 had it as a permanant part of the General lee ............. but i was tryin to remember if seasons 2,3 and 4 had it without the steel trim ? i also know that the animated series , TV Reunion movies and the 2005 and 2007 movies didn't have the stainless steel trim either ! apparantly it was removed due to rust issues ??? not sure if that was true or not ?

You know it's sad this has always been my dream car and up until a few years back every one seemed to love this car. Then all the negativity came from a false presence about the flag on the general lee..needless to say it became more of a car that alot of ignorant people started to hate. It's really nice to see people like you still keeping this iconic car alive. Nice job and yes it's show car ready

@@Charles-gh4hu thanks man. I really appreciate your kind words! However, the media and people online over-hype all the negativity. @@YippeeSkippie426 thanks for watching and I appreciate it man, stay tuned for part 4 where I do a deep dive into the interior and my future plans for the interior change 💪. They used at least two (possibly 3) interior colors: factory saddle tan, and a light beige color on the later cars. Also, there’s a discussion about a darker brown color on some of the cars too in the earlier seasons. I may do a video on that as well in the future. But you’re right: it needs to be tan for sure 🤙

No matter what color you paint it, it’s going to look awesome but for me personally I’ve got to side with John, he was there, he lived it but in saying that, no matter what the base color was , no matter the mutt mixed paint Ill have to believe that TNT Express is the closest match color to the original General Lee, Lee #1. Not the other early cars but particularly to the first Orange General Lee. Now pick your poison 😂
@GLRESTOMOD2 ай бұрын
Thanks again for watching💪. I appreciate it! Well, I only have a few caveats with John’s testimony, despite him being there: one is that there have been things he has been wrong on in the past that we have photographs of to show it wasn’t how he remembered it (he’s absolutely not a liar and seems like a very sincere guy, just mistaken, and we’ve all been there before). Also, Jon Holland spoke with Henry Holman and he was a Corvette guy. The Hemi Orange was too red for television, so he knew that 1975 Corvette Flame Red was a true orange: he had all three of the first General Lees repainted 1975 Corvette Flame Red, despite them arriving from CA in Hemi Orange. That’s according to the testimony of the man in charge of the operation of painting the cars. So while John and Henry were both there, Henry made the decision on the color of the cars. Both are extremely good colors, and very close to one another. Again, the paint scan can yield different results even when using the same color paint and the same batch of paint, especially if the color underneath was different: so I’m a Corvette Flame Red guy for those reasons. However, both colors are very close to one another, and I wouldn’t be able to tell the difference if the two were parked next to each other😂. So any orange that one decides to use is a fantastic choice and wouldn’t be like “That’s not correct!” I think any of those colors are somewhat correct and I completely understand why some people go with TN, Corvette Flame Res, Hemi Orange, Big Bad Orange, etc. and I think they all look great to be honest💪 Thanks again for the conversation, love talking about this stuff 💪
@Jeremey722 ай бұрын
TNT express was never even mentioned by the builders as a color they used. Travis bell says it’s tnt then everybody wants to believe him. The original roof off Lee 1 scanned corvette flame. The first 3 general lees was first painted hemi orange then repainted corvette flame by H&H in Georgia
@GLRESTOMOD2 ай бұрын
@ agreed! However, I think the paint scan did yield the TNT color: but like I mentioned room in the video, the car could have been painted Corvette Flame Red (and I’m convinced it was) and based upon what color was underneath it will scan a different color than what it was painted. I’m in full agreement with you 💪
@Jeremey722 ай бұрын
@@GLRESTOMOD tnt is very very close to corvette flame it’s just another one of Travis scams to get people to believe him. When I built mine Tom Sarmento told me himself corvette flame was the color they used the most and sometimes they did mix up colors when they was in a hurry and running low on paint. Yea paint colors and scans can change depending on what color is underneath. So when the builders actually say this is what they used I’m going with that.
@GLRESTOMOD2 ай бұрын

@GLRESTOMOD2 ай бұрын
@@Bob-cd5pp well, what’s wild is that Mopar Hemi Orange has “orange” in the name, but has red in it. The opposite is true of Corvette Flame Red: it is actually orange but has the word red in the name! My car currently is the Mopar color which has more red in it: so I’ll correct that to the actual orange color eventually, despite it having “red” in the name💪.
