Im glad they made this version and hope they can make an expansion for it. This will be great to help my family learn Ever dell. And some times we just dont have alot of time to do a BIG game so this will fit perfect.

Great points. My wife and I like Stone Age but I think Everdell would be too complex for her. My Lil Everdell sounds like a perfect fit.

I know you enjoy some good euros. I've recently discovered hansa teutonica and it seems pretty cool. It's a route planning game that's pretty heavy on the player interaction for a euro. The theme is incredibly dry but besides that I haven't seen any euros that play like it.

Man, I have to try that game. I’ve heard so much about it. Yes, I enjoy Euros. Especially heavy Euros. But I’m going to put out a few reviews for the family games I played over the holidays.

@@theperfectboardgame yes please keep those coming 😁. I've yet to play Hansa myself and I feel like with its bland looking bored I may struggle to even convince people to play it. I'm also wondering how well its scales with the type of interaction it has. May be best at 3 to 4 and most of the time I'm playing 2 player with my 8 year old. He tends to gravitate towards medium weight euros, but with 2 players hansa it may not be the same game I'm thinking it is...... As far as everdell I'm considering selling the copy I have and replacing it with my lil everdell

Everdell definitely has a lot of flaws and the components, while beautiful, make the game much more expensive than it should be for what it is. I think the worker placement in it is a bit too simplistic and I personally never felt like I'd be missing out on what I'm hoping to get. I also hate the evertree 😂. Another huge gripe is the print on the cards is so small that you spend more time squinting and reading than having any type of AP.....my lil everdell seems like it's better honestly. Streamlined and still keeps the same cuteness and all that. Price point is an issue but I get why it's so pricey. Both games are beautiful. And it's single handedly what keeps the rating of the game so high in the community imo. There are way better worker placement/ resource management games out there.

Absolutely. I think Everdell is about as satisfying as a simple game like Race for the Galaxy, Dominion or Splendor, if any of those games could be made more work and if there rhythm was reduced to a slog. My Lil’ Everdell is indeed better because it retains the satisfaction and the core of Everdell, all the charm, but it accelerates the game and makes it fun to play more than once. …but that’s just my opinion. I didn’t want to make this video about hating Everdell but what make MLE great.

Any thoughts on Flamecraft vs My Lil Everdale as a family game? Would you pick one over the other?

I made a video about Flamecraft. I was not a fan so the choice is easy: MLE. But for your sake, I will describe the difference between the two objectively: both games have an element of engine building. In Flamecraft, the spaces in the town are getting better, so each turn you have new and more exciting choices. In MLE, each player has there own set of cards that makes the player’s turn more exciting for that player. Ownership of your engine is a bit more engaging. But what really makes the choice easy for me is the pace. MLE is always gong to be a 12-turn game. 48 turns in a 4-player game. Flamecraft is much slower and can last much longer.
