Right amber!!! The y2k trend is popular right now, but sadly those sultry screenings if I’m not mistaken were destroyed or shelved possibly even reconfigured for different projects after the lawsuit but I see it fading fast, Mattel knows what we want and sometimes they can give it to us, but the anniversary year was 2020 and the pandemic canceled the hope then, the movie may give Mattel more money to release things, they did say at one point they weren’t going to use the Bob Mackie face anymore and look at that holiday angel from last year so I guess we can say never say never and we can’t forget the steffie sculpt they brought her back for the 80’s rewind

I lean towards My Scene over Bratz, so it would be great to see them come back. I wasn’t collecting dolls when they were out, so even some repros like Bratz are doing would be better than nothing. As any collector knows, older My Scene dolls can be really expensive.

About damn time Mattel. These girls better slay and they better have the new monster high body types. They should all be fashion students at a school in new York And they could each represent a borough of New York City. We need to see up to date fashion and styling. They need to actually reach out to young people for the style and aesthetics

I agree with everything except the fashion school part. Maybe Chelsea since that was her thing but what I loved was how diverse their interests were and shopping was more hobby for some than fixation. Plus, more interests mean more styles. I’d love to see Delancey’s skater look again!🥰

I wouldn't give them monster high body's. They originally had Barbie's body and the shorter more petite mh body molds would make the dolls not look like my scene but more like bratz. Personally I think they should have the same type of bodies as the Barbie line just like before imo.

I hope Mattel can bring back My Scene someday. In the Barbie Basics timeline, the My Scene girls are Barbie's friends and Kennedy is Barbie's cousin and Jazzie's younger sister. Since the My Scene Girls are adults in the Barbie Basics, some of them are married. Kennedy is married with River, Chelsea is married with Hudson, Madison is married with Sutton, Nolee is looking for another boyfriend since Bryant returned to England, Delancey is on a date with Ellis, Kenzie is also looking for a boyfriend and Nia is happy to see Lucas back on New York. Also that Kennedy can colaborate with Barbie and Brooklyn in many of their adventures.

My Scene was discontinued because of a drop in sales and their only purpose was to compete with Bratz. Once Mattel stole the Bratz license My Scene didn’t have a purpose anymore. Unfortunately I really don’t think they’re ever coming back. Companies trademark things and never use them all the time actually. They could have trademarked my scene just so another company can’t use that name. I really don’t any of this is indication they’re coming back but I hope I’m wrong! I’d love love to see them come back BUT only if the quality is good and they don’t have the freakin Millie face mold 🙃 So yeah I don’t think they’re gonna come back but I hope I’m wrong!

I totally agree with you! I remember standing in the aisle of the store with the Bratz dolls taking over and speaking with others and no one really liked them, it was confusing because you looked at the markdowns to clear on My Scene and to me they were the most ground breaking dolls of their time. They were relatable dolls to dress up, the clothes and accessories to me were like no other, they left you wanting the clothes in our size to wear, LOL The dolls hair was beautifully rooted, the handbags had access, all the accessories were not just these one colored popped out of a mold item. Especially with the movie out and probably gaining new doll collectors this would be a perfect time to release this line again, it was a diverse line, kids didn't struggle if they wanted one that they related too and really c'mon it was perfection what they did with the one they called "Barbie". Sigh.....fingers crossed this follows through, all we can hope for is we keep talking about it cause we know they have "spies" out and algorithm reading what we like so we just need to keep talking about it!

The artworks you mentioned that were unused was actually used in the packaging of lines that were released in select European countries & the Philippines. They also made it on licensed merchs like notebooks, photo albums & other school supplies. From what I remember My Scene was discontinued in the U.S. back in 2008 but new lines with the newer artwork kept popping up elsewhere until 2011.

the first photo in the mattel website has a madison doll wearing the same outfit she did when i had her sometime in the early 2000s. they might be a sort of thing like the bratz revival mga is doing, selling collector dolls instead of remaking them? at least those photos seem like they have the original early 2000s fashions... if there was a myscene revival, id say it would make more sense to have them have more updated clothes

I disagree that these girls could be a reference to MyScene because if u see MyScene from back in the days … they wore these dolls that were super pretty, and very fashionable. Which these girls in the movie doesn’t look anything or a reference to myscene dolls at all . But would of been great idea if Mattel had put them in the movie as a reference and also the wardrobe would of been wow , just like the myscene dolls !

No need to mattel lacks in quality for clothing and details. Enjoy your plastic shoe molds thar are unpainted. And printed on zippers and printed on layered clothing 🎉 mattel had to take notes out of mga's book to make surprise style dolls because they can't think of original ideas. Monster high only became a real brand because after they(mattel) got there hands temporarily on the bratz license and molds. They tried to make there own version of a bratz doll and it had the body now used for monster high. They lost the license and had to scrap it. Mattel is cheap so they kept the bodies and used the new bratz face mold for the first monster high prototypes. Then they where given new face molds again and kept the monster high body you see. Mga is the blueprint. Mattel is just copying

As much as I love MyScene, I don't see this happening. Companies file trademarks on their properties when they're about to expire just for the purpose of stopping anyone else from trademarking it themselves, and also with the purpose that maybe one day they'll have a use for it again, the same way MH trademarked names of doll lines back at the same time as the MyScene trademark like Ghouls Night out, and we haven't seen them use it yet. If they do come back I imagine it would only be a reproduction/Mattel creations exclusive type thing. I've looked on the Mattel UK and USA website and I can't find that MyScene page anywhere, so it must be pretty heavily burried there, its not easily accessable. Those updated images are from around 2010 that they used mostly on the website. They've poured so much money and energy into trying to make a space for MH G3 in the toy market, and they're still trying to do that, so I can't see them trying to bring back another doll line when they still haven't fully established MH G3. Also the scene being a reference to MyScene doesn't really make any sense, since Barbie was a part of the MyScene crew, why would they be dissing Barbie? MyScene existed solely to be a competitor in the tween market and compete against Bratz, so once Mattel killed Bratz (with lawsuits, not MyScene), they no longer had a use for MyScene. The same reason MH has only been bought back to compete with MGA's new raging success in the doll market.

Omg I would seriously buy the my scene dolls if they were to return. I still own 4 of the girls. I love My Scene WAY MORE than BRATZ.. This entire time I though they discontinued it because of BRATZ and the court case. I loved the mini series in 2002 I wish they made it again and NOT with some bigger, better, newer look.. like they did in 2008, with big heads and small body like a twisted version of the bratz which completely ruined the girls for me, like who tf is Kennedy? lmao....
