It hasn't been looking good for the Harvest Moon series. Will the new game be any better? In this playthrough i decide to find out!
Well howdy again. Just like the comment says, I feel kind of silly releasing this video now. This is vid clearly takes place in March, and it's July now. Funny thing is, this video was meant to be quick. I planned it that way, with the three week deadline, and a straight-forward style without many crazy edits. I wanted to get this out as soon as possible. Especially since the time frame of people caring about a Natsumi Harvest Moon game is pretty short. The original Mineral Town? Sure. There's still interest in that almost 20 years later. But I'm not sure One World really holds that much interest. So April was my goal. But there was a few problems. First off, my Mineral Town Completion Video wasn't even done until April 22nd. That one was in the works for a looong time. Conceptually, i started that in July 2020. That's when the Mineral Town remake came out, and I knew I wanted to do a Comparison Video. And in the process of doing that, I decided to go for completion. Eventually that split into a video of its own, but the Comparison Video had to come first. There was alot of gameplay and research going into that one. And that Mario/Invert Video was a bit of a hiccup in it's progress. Anyway that one didn't come out until the end of January 2021. It just took that long to put together. By that time i had alot of conceptual progress on the Completion Video, though not so much on the edit itself. So right after finishing the Comparison Video, i went right into the Completion Video. And oh boy was there alot of work put into that edit. That one didn't come out until April 23rd. Already a month after the end of the three week One World playthrough deadline. But i went straight into it, wanting to finish it as soon as possible. Then May hit. What happened in May? Well nothing really -happened-. But there was some factors that helped me back. Nothing too crazy, but I touch on it slightly in the description of the Lingering Zack Video. There was no major cataclysmic event, but the whole month of May can be defined by nothing but anxiety. Like the worst i've had in my life. (And that's saying alot.) I couldn't physically bring myself to do anything productive. Then June. The crash. This whole month would've been depression i guess. That sounds dramatic, idk. It just is what it is. But again, i could do very little productive. On the plus side though, I did manage to throw together that Sonic Mania 2 Video. But i had very little motivation to do anything until sometime in July. And let me tell you, i was so close to scrapping this video. 4 months already have gone by since One World's release. Who is really gonna to care? Well no one, probably. But that hasn't stopped me before. But i didn't want to do it. I almost scrapped it, but that would have sucked. I mean, even though i hadn't touched it since April, I had already put a lot of work into it. All of the gameplay was recorded in March. All of the script was written in March. All of the voice-over as well was recorded in March. The intro and outro? Yup. Filmed in March. I even had a decent amount of the voice-over files edited in April, and some of the footage cut together too. So i didn't like the idea of all that work going to waste. Somehow i got myself back into it and continued where i left off. But I'll be honest, it was so difficult to stay focused on this one. This was nothing like the Mineral Town videos, or the Kingdom Hearts video, or even the Final Fantasy 7 videos I've done, where they took a long time and a lot of effort, but is worth it because I had passion for those games, and passion for the projects about them. This was an okay game that I kinda enjoyed, but all in all is pretty forgettable. So it's pretty ironic to me to be writing this whole thing out on this video of all things. That's just how it works I guess. And in the end, I'm happy with how it came out. This isn't meant to be a lesson on motivation, working hard, or dealing with mental hell(th). Really it's just another rambling on my dysmorphic view of time, and how much of it has passed. And let me tell you, I'm pissed that i lost so much of it. Think of all i could have accomplished already. Oh well. No matter now. I've got some exciting (at least to me) videos on the horizon. Hopefully they don't take another eternity. Anyway, thanks for tuning in. And if you read all that, then dang. I don't even know what to say. But you real one.
