at the end of the day, the girls remain a rookie group that released only two mini albums and three singles. not much of a discography there yet to show any lasting artistry. their so-called "success" is not deep-rooted, and is based on short-term "trendiness." they do not even write, compose, or produce their own music; they rely on a creative team to dictate their music & choreography as puppet performers. the group is essentially a product of PR imaging, and paid media can only take them so far. the individual members are not yet even established as solo artists; without the group name, they have nothing else. they have just become old denims.

Agree about popularity due to PR and trend. Personally, I think they found some kind of loophole in the contract, not the clause they stated but something else. As much as ppl wanna villify Hybe, their contracts are one of the better ones in kpop as well as mhj herself would have had a hand in NJ contract terms. They have been pretty quiet lately and I can't help but think they are cooking something. They might be able to release a album or song through a loophole, although the contract isn't terminated.

They became radioactive, and working with them will be a nightmare (if they manage to sing with another label). It is sad to see their career end so badly, mainly because they were a breath of fresh air in the K-pop industry. They felt like they had power because as soon as they debuted, they started to get invitations, shows apperences, and promotions without realizing that was the privilege of being under Hybe. In reality, a lot of their succes was handfed, and their ego clouded their minds to see they depended on the label, not the other way around.

MHJ managed to get them a million dollar payout shortly before this started but, it was something more like a bonus and not a part of their contract.

In order to sign them, another angry would have to pay off hybe, buy the contract from hybe, and pay the girls lawyers, plus then pay for New Jeans upkeep, home, food, plus get them back into performing??? The law I read would require millions if not a billion as the contract will be based on what they made each year, multiplied by what's left on their contract to hybe. Also, I have seen her paperwork online, and Adore is getting her visa renewed to show she is still under contract. They have to treat the girls as if they hold their contract. You really need to talk with a lawyer. Hybe has split criminal case against MHJ, separate from Old Pants contract issues. The girls are getting really BAD legal advice from somebody's uncle.

The worst part about all of this is the fact that NewJeans cried wolf. Groups like FiftyFifty lost everything trying to leave their company, and their initial lawsuits, in spite of how much proof they had, ended up losing. Right now there is a young girl battling against her CEO who trapped her in a room for hours and attempted to coerce sex out of her, and forced himself on her, who is likely facing so much hardship fighting that. VCHA members experiencing racism, and bullying. But NewJeans gets ignored one time, goes on an entire campaign about it, only for it to turn out that MHJ was behind it all (shocker), and that them wanting to terminate their contract for mistreatment and harassment was just a coverup so they could leave and work w MHJ again. It’s disgusting. Idols have to fight for their lives in this industry sometimes. NewJeans is only going to make it so much harder for future idols who undergoing ACTUAL mistreatment to be able to leave their companies, when it is already nearly impossible. I used to feel bad for NewJeans, I genuinely could tell that MHJ had them wrapped around her fingers, but I don’t anymore. Lying about being abused and mistreated is disgusting, through and through. I think NJs will keep trying a little longer. When the court makes a decision regarding their contract with Ador, likely saying it's still valid, that's when I think they'll really struggle. They'd have to pay to officially terminate the contract and try to get into another company or start their own. They'd need money and sponsors and support. In such a saturated market, how far could they get? MHJ has several other court cases against her, she's fully cooked. But I think she'll try to take everyone down with her.

I've never followed NJ and I think I've only heard one song by them out of curiosity. I have been watching the drama and shenanigans unfold this past year or so tho. My take is that MJH is a criminally dishonest narcissist that needs to be punished to the full extent of the law. On his YT channel, Lawyer in SEOUL said the penalties are so costly that NWJNS will inevitably reconcile with Ador. There's no road to "independence" when they have 5 years left on their contract and no evidence. That means the members are doing the idol equivalent of punching themselves in the face every time they do an independent activity. They're racking up breach penalties while bringing in no money. There's no way their stage parents will put up with that for long. They're quickly going to figure out that MHJ took them for a ride. Not to mention what they permanently lost. Their hope of international success is gone for good. The girls are big fish in the little pond of SK and will remain so, damaged goods dancing in baggy track suits until they age out. I have always been suspicious about Lee Eunju and Black.Q (Kim Younghoo) from ADOR's performance team. Making such statements to attack ILLIT after mhj's infamous press conference was two weeks old holds no grounds and they wrote identical message as it was mhj who wrote a script and gave it to them like she did with NJ. Lee Eunju was a former performance director of TXT before she joined Source Music as a team leader of performance direction. She became Kim Younghoo's mentor when he joined ADOR's performance team as a performance director in 2022. It was Lee Eunju who gave him the Black.Q name. He was called the father of NewJeans. He was born in 1995 and is in a similar age as the younger BTS members and Supreme Boi. Became a choreographer in 2021 after being a backup dancer. He has stated in the past he plagiarizes from other choreographers. ILLIT's performance director, Myeong Sangwoo (Mando), disappeared with 1st comeback who choreographed Lucky Girl Syndrome which Lee Eunju attacked due to McDonalds Korea commercial choreography she made. Black.Q attacked that and claim all choreography from NewJeans have been plagiarized. Lee Eunju betrayed BigHit and Hybe by attacking ILLIT with mhj's instructions. Since Black.Q and Lee Eunju are part of mhj's Jeanz members' team I don't think they will ever come back to ADOR. The validation of the contract with ADOR is still in process by the court. Jeanz members can do nothing about it when it comes to new activities in 2025. The moment a company sign with Jeanz members they will get sued by ADOR for breach of contract. Mhj is also busy with lawsuits in January so she is cornered.

We know a few of the BTS members weren't singers or dancers when they started. They certainly managed well. You can learn and do well if you are very determined. HyunJin of Stray kids and San of Ateez had to really apply themselves to learn dance, and look at them now. So, yes young people with grit and determination can succeed. NJs needs healing time and IMO treatment to cope with the (MHJ) manipulation that happened to them. They had so much going for them, and then this whole hairball happened and my respect has disappeared. I went from supporting them to really annoyed with them, because they are attacking the legality of the very contracts that protect all parties, and it could reach beyond KPOP if a new precedent is set.
