I watched your video before purchasing New World. Let me tell you what an absolute disappointment. It has an EverQuest, Final Fantasy XI gaming mechanics. It would not surprise me in the least little bit if they actually stole the gaming mechanics from them games. You can't swim, which should be extremely common in today's games, and they don't have gaming controller settings at all. Like the gaming controller for me isn't that big of a deal because I can reprogram my controller, but not everyone knows how to do that 😮 And that is something so extremely beyond. simple to put in your game controllers have less buttons than a keyboard. 😮 This makes me think they copied the gaming mechanics from an older game like EverQuest or Final Fantasy XI when most people didn't have controllers. And then you add you can't swim on top of that 😮 So EverQuest and Final Fantasy 11 was my favorite games of all time. I think a lot of people would say that. But a lot of us have growing up and growing past this being forced to group with other people. I would consider myself hardcore / casual I don't play a RPG to teach people how to play RPG I did that 20 years ago. That is no longer fun to me. Yo bro you're a tank you've got all your points in strength. No absolutely not you cannot heal Do not try. (Newbie) but I have healing spells !! Trust me man I've got you. 😢 ( me ) can't get to leave party fast enough. No I'm absolutely not interested in trying things I tried 20 years ago that did not work. Nothing's changed trust me 😂 New worlds crafting farming crafting stuff is awesome I absolutely enjoy that part of the game I miss it so much in today's games. But being forced to group is why only 40% of the game has even leveled up past level 40 That's not even max level and only 40% of the people that purchased this game has only hit Level 40 what the blank 😮 According to steams achievement.

Hey Yommi! I recently returned to NW after finding your Ironman series. I decided to play Ironman myself because of it. I was a fan of OSRS Ironman, so this is perfect! It’s like a piece of my childhood grew up with me. I have become an avid watcher of your series since I found it, starting with episode 1 and watching every single one all the way through. I’m currently on episode 78. I would love if you considered putting out an in depth Ironman min/max guide. What skills to get to what levels in what order, etc. I know that you seem to be similar to me in being extremely detail oriented and thorough. I think there is nobody better that could put out a full, in depth guide than you, no rock left unturned!

i just started this game on the 23rd and am currently lvl 39, the game progression is so generous but also fun and interactive, and gives you a lot of options to specialise your own experience, i would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a fun mmo without p2w qualities

Why is it sooooooo hard to find a good PvP MMO? I have been playing Ascension another game that has crazy potential, but and this is big one, it's main base is PVE, so PvP gets left behind, and it is a mess right now at end level.

I just started playing NW and am only level 28 but I really enjoy the freedom of choice for the weapon and upgrade system. I'm definitely a more casual player but I am looking forward to more exploring and gathering! I am going for tank/healer and so far it seems to be a solid choice, however the first character is always like the first pancake, they often turn out a bit weird. 😃

Didn’t think I was gonna like it but ended up having a blast. Started two month’s ago and already have 500 hours in. Beautiful world and love the pvp and combat. The only thing that keeps me playing is the pvp.

I tried coming back this week. Finished the expansion story. Looked at my inventory, didn't' wanna go through it. (all storage sheds full from saving gear for 2 months last year). Looked at groups for mutations, were none. Went to farm to lvl up skills, all resources taken. Did a chest run, was bored as hell. Logged off. Done.

Feedback to the Video itself: I think it would help to not only structure the Video at the start visually, but also to do it again with like a little Title Card. Something thats easy to catch when you hover over the video bar so people who want to jump to a specific point in the video can do so immediatly if they arent interested in a specific playstyle and dont have to look for the exact spot where you start talking about what they are interested in.

Hey yommi and nice videos been watching you for a while now and enjoyed the new world content! , my opinion about new world/what happened to me so as i been playing for a like almost year now i joined new world back in 2023 earlys and i enjoyed and loved it ALOT i grinded myself all of the ward gears for every dungeon to be able to do m10's gold speed runs/sell runs thats what i did yeah , then i started hearing rumours about wards being removed /banes etc i was like oh well maybe its fine its gonna work lets go , but then expansion came out and i noticed what the game really was after expansion the removal of wards was straight punch into face IN MY OPINION from ags to a new player who wasted alot of time doing wards/expertise , these days i hate doing dungeon mutations its always a catastrophic miserably try m2-m3 , i play only pvp in new world and its sad to see the truth the game is dying. (sorry for grammars misspells im just a foreigner)

I think more of the hardcore base is probably waiting for Ashes of Creation, I feel like ESO kinda had similar issues. for me why I played so much WOW is because you have to work for, there are more build and gear options, mounts and cosmetics from high teir raids and dungeons. for me it was really build variety and lack of skills and gear all looked similar maybe some variation of color. to be fair it did look like they added more after launch so maybe ill try it again at some point

i wish blizzard would make like Wow 2 and it just be wow with action combat, that would make me play it im so bored of tab targetting, and bad at it lol. i much prefer it being based like dodging and timing attacks more intuitive simple combat, not needing to know how to cycle 20 skills in order to not get your ass kicked😂

10:38 correction recently they added a open work pvp activity that every night at 8pm EST there’s something called a “faction race” and it basically a hour or non stop open world combat and it’s pretty nutty if you haven’t participated in one yet!

It's objective based open world pvp held over a four hour period almost every day and is extremely fun and rewarding. You get tons of pvp track xp, as well as a loot chest win or lose. What the game does lack is random encounter open world pvp which is what you referenced. But by not even mentioning the Influence Races it makes the games open world pvp seem way worse than it is.

New World is a ton of fun when youre leveling and have tons of goals. Once you get to endgame, its either pvp or expeditions. thats about it, with the occasional world train. The addition of mounts and artifact weapons seemed to be a lot of fun but once you get the ones you need, its back to pvp/expeditions. we need more endgame variety.

Nice vid. on point with your opinion. AGS made some very poor choices along the way, the nail in the coffin was when they announced they will be focusing on pve and not pvp. Like they didn't even keep pvp in their view they just scrapped the best part of New World, crazy decision. I hope they do Lord of the Rings right.

I started on release, went back about 8 months ago and made a brand new character, go to lvl 60 again. Ultimately the lack of open world PvP and constant groups running bow / musket in OPR became so stale. In the early weeks I had a TON of fun questing and getting into engagements.. totally dropped the ball somewhere

I got this game on launch got max level and played alone all the time. The reason I quit playing was because I couldn’t keep up with the hardcore grinders. I could never compete or keep up with them when I came to dungeons or PVP.

Have no fear….. I remember those days, but now, it’s so much less grindy than it use to be. I made an alt on a fresh start server and reached max level (65) in less than two days, and got multiple BiS gear sets in the first week or so. Maxed out armoring and about half way on the rest of the trade skills in a few weeks. Now I’m a “war-logger” that account.

The rewards from duingeons are pretty meh, Influence races and wars are fun if you have a good company. How AGS could not just bring people back to New World who have given up on it, but make it truly great. Create OPR maps thematically for every zone, after two years you could have at least begun this and had a few amazing maps. An Angry Earth map, a Corrupted map, A Lost map of ghosts and haunted houses in time for Halloween. Better drops from event bosses, not just stuff to buy at a tent but exciting drops in real time to keep bringing people back. Better rewards from dungeon, event drops from dungeons to tie together content. Transmog plates for saving full appearances players create. Better dyes, too many muddy and broken dyes, where's the black? Put that in the store and AGS never has financial problems again. Use Ultimate dynamic to allow players to create ultimate crafting clothing and gathering clothing sets to avoid so much micromanaging of clothing in town and in the wild that most people just avoid. More open Music System to write and record and share our own music sheets. Salvage music and crafting sheets into various fiber types. Junk Vendor to sell items, a blanket 3G on salvages is boring. Create a reason for people to explore. Nerfing the Yeti so people will go after gleamite and presents more only works if you buff their turn-in ratios. Turning in over 200 gleamite and 60 presents only got me 2 premium tokens. Better event store items Housing outside of cities, on a mountain, on the water... Pets, rename Mounts Mount charms tested and found to be nearly worthless when compared to each other and not using one at all, buff them. Alchemist / Arcane ability to create glows people can add to their weapons More mount skins Add some cute elements to the game. We need training dummies within every city. I should not have to go all the way out to a fort or camp. Also, fix the at home training dummies.

I agree with everything except the two final points regarding hardcore pvp: "the maximum skill level is quite low" you could also say the same about valorant or quake. Having simple mechanics doesn't mean you don't have a margin for error in those mechanics. Some classes like the wizard and the musket are skills based on mechanics like aiming, positioning, DCs and correct reaction times. The best players don't lose by accident unlike other games where it might happen (also for time to kill), it's the same reason why some servers have been dominated by a single guild. Point 2: PvP is technically shit. For an action game it is full of now accepted desynchronization. Watch a war and you will see how people have unconsciously absorbed the visual inconsistency with the knowledge of area spells

I love New World but either I’m missing something or it truly lacks player base. I’m playing on one of the top populated EU servers and right at the first dungeon I see one group to join if that. The chat is responsive though and it’s enough to keep me going for a few days of gameplay but nothing to keep me engaged for months.

Subscriptions OR yearly expansions; not both. Personally I would not have bought the game if it was subscription, so i'd have missed over 5000hrs of fun, so maybe continuing with the expansions would be better. Although if they do new players will have to payout for the game and multiple expansions and it'll become very expensive in a few years time. So probably down the line, subscriptions and more new content-as you suggest -would make more sense. Tough call for Amazon either way. Hope they make the best choice they can, as it is a great game indeed!

The alpha 2 server will be live until full release and will serve as the PTR server post-launch. and the $75 pack is for beta access, the alpha 2 access packs start at $250. It's quite pricey but I'll be posting content on it here :)

I have not played this in a long time. My best firend and his friend played for maybe a week and after that both of them didn't want to play anymore. So I was alone and played for maybe 2 weeks after they left, But I couldn't do much because you are really depend on other players to get into dungeons If I remember correct. And I couldn't find anybody that wanted to play or help me. So not a game for me. Expansion is for level 60+, base game is level 0-60 so you don't have to buy the expansion right away but if you end up liking the game after you hit level 60 then yes the expansion is necessary.

Like you said after getting the bow, it's all too easy. It shouldn't be, I'm playing for less than a month and I finished the story, raised almost all professions to max level and got most equipment I wanted. And in the last patch they made it even more easy, I don't really understand why

you *could* use the same sets for both but a good PvE set is A LOT easier to get than a good PvP set

Eh in my experience whatever bonuses they give you for the deluxe editions is never worth it. My friend paid nearly $100 for deluxe edition at launch and just got a bunch of (kinda ugly) cosmetics he never uses. $22 for this game is a good deal though and will provide more than $22 worth of fun (in my opinion)

Definitely a fair assessment. Unfortunately the majority of committed MMO players are Hardcore PvE. They’re used to WoW and GW2 and OSRS caliber of content, both quality and quantity. NW just isn’t there yet. And let’s be honest may never get there. So yeah… casual pve and casual/hardcore PvP will love the game. Hardcore pve, go play one of the many other pve options.

I'm not sure if it's really even that lucrative, but it's through overpriced skins and house furniture in the cash shop, and the few players who must apparently have a thing for them (most don't seem to). There is also the season pass which is just more pass-exclusive skins and minor consumable items.

Is a good game but the sad truth it gets repetitive. I’ve done everything from good old gearscore chest runs, mutations, all professions maxed out, fully bis gears and pvp. From open world company pushes, thousands of 3v3 and OPR, about 300-400 wars. Is a good game for a casual player that want an MMO to hop on from time to time. I reached a time where I would only log in for wars and hop off since I had nothing to do. I haven’t played in a while since I have no interest in playing for a month and running out of content.
