Outlaw Torn is my favourite from S&M. 10 minutes, flawless utilization of the orchestra. But the whole set it incredibly good.

I’m one of the odd Metallica fans who quite likes a number of the tunes from Metallica’s ‘grunge period’. I’m particularly fond of this one, as well as ‘The Outlaw Torn’. These two tracks, plus the S&M version of ‘The Thing That Should Not Be’ were permanent fixtures on my psychedelic trip mix tapes. Of course, I was a fan of *Ride the Lightning * and *Master Of Puppets* long before *Load* was ever released; it’s just that I didn’t despise *Load* the way most of mi mates did.

This is one of my all time favorite belt it out in the car by myself songs. Never saw this version before, it's killer!

You have no idea how much I appreciate you liking this song. I am SOO SICK of these "true fans" that never have Load/Reload a chance. The always say the same trite statement. "They were only good up until the Black album.😒 Absolute nonsense. There are MANY good songs off of those albums. They just want it to all sound they same, and even Metallica said they didn't want to just keep puting out the same album. Thanks for feeling it man.

You must watch the 1999 Woodstock performance of this song. Especially for comparison. James just pours his emotions out there on the stage. 🥲 ♥️ Enjoying your Metallica reactions. Thank you!

selam habee bee ,,, this is so underrated Metalllica's song .. esp. with S&M ... i loved this song even before they "emereged" it with orchestra, but with S&M .. man .. this is piece of art on another level ..... tbh, i watched this video about 1000 times - NEVER noticed that James kicked the stool .. lmfao .. i was in the song every time .... the middle section of this song is what brings me up and down at same time .. lyrics - everything i need .. greetings from Bosnia .... and, yeah .. you might give a try to Hunnghai, mongolian etno/hard rock

Not sure how something over 20 years old counts as 'newer'?
@chrishowell1994 жыл бұрын
I get that though. I still think of Tool as "newer" rock, I think because they came out when I was barely a teenager and it was a game changer. A transitional movement in Rock.

Orion will always be at the top of my Metallica playlist. ESPECIALLY the S&M version 😍 Also also: if Joey isnt real, then the voice in your closet has some damn good music taste, if that’s where you’re getting the majority of your (so called) “first time ever” reactions! 😏😂

Metallica is the gateway drug for me. Recently I decided to give them a listen, because I HADN'T. I regret that. Because now I can listen to Maiden too. Who are a joy. And then my YT feed gave me Nightwish. And they cut me, I will bleed forever. By the way, if you like James's voice, check out Orbit Culture.

This song is the perfect example why lars is a pathetic drummer. All the theatrics proves why he doesn't have much to do. Just drum and quit trying to be the star. Know your role
