Its SO awesome that Eggers got investors for this film after The Northman (a great film) didn't do so well at the box office. It shows that there are people out there who really have faith in his ability to make a great film even if it doesn't bring in $1bil

There seems to be a lot of hype about this film. That Eggers used candles to light scenes. But Kubrick lit "Barry Lyndon" with candles back in the seventies. The definitive vampire film for me is Coppola's "Bram Stoker's Dracula", a masterpiece I'd say.
@dr.juerdotitsgo511921 сағат бұрын
There's a lot of hype about Eggers, period. He's like the Christopher Nolan of "A24 Horror". He's so "artsy" that he didn't choose to remake Coppola's Dracula, he chose a silent film from 1922. See how artsy he is?

Promising director, but no way this film is better than the 70’s version. I predict CGI effects, jump frights, and moody cinematic lighting. Compare to the 70’s naturalistic lighting, great use of music, and Kinski at the height of his game!

THE NORTHMAN sucked ass. Its not a "travesty" that people didnt like it ok? Its not worth just the 5.minute opening of John Milius' CONAN. THE WITCH dragged and was boring, THE LIGHTHOUSE pretentious. This is his last shot. With a big budget anyway. My guess is it will go down like ALIEN ROMULUS.
@asterix1912Күн бұрын
Never watched the Northman but I loved the Witch and the Lighthouse. They are great films but if you feel so strongly about them, they may just not be the type of movie for you. It doesn't mean they are bad however. I have high hopes for this Nosferatu film as I am a fan of the original film and I like Robert Eggers' previous work so I have good expectations for this film.
@gnosis555Күн бұрын
He needs a better writer to help him. He has a good eye, like Burton, but can’t make characters or plots come alive. So his movies are pretty but yet dull at the same time. I think we’ll be asking “what was the point” when the credits roll.
@asterix1912Күн бұрын
Conan is one of my favorite movies ever! I appreciate you bringing that up. As for Alien Romulus, it had its moments but overall I was left disappointed. I hate that Cameron set the standard for treating the alien as if they were big space bugs that are more of a nuisance than anything. The first Alien is the only one for me because of the suspense, isolation, and dread that it evoked. None of the others have come close to the original and none portray the titular creature as this unstoppable monster/perfect organism that cannot be put down.
