Thanks for watching! Keen to hear your thoughts on this - is the iPad of value to students who are learning in non-STEM disciplines?

Hi Samuel, I am a UK foundation trainee. Thanks for making inspiring videos. Is it possible to have your medical notes that you have made using your Ipad?

As a Law Firm owner, I mostly use my iPad Pro for pdf annotation and cross examination in the Courthouse. You just have to change the way you work but it’s brilliant.

Unfortunately, this video ignores note-taking methods not based in some kind of Goodnotes/Notability format. The main reason I own and use an iPad, rather than a traditional laptop, is for full-function access to Liquidtext for exactly the subjects it is suggested the iPad is not optimised for studying - Law and History at the undergraduate and graduate level. For content/text-heavy subjects, the hardware is not necessarily the problem, it’s the choice of software that makes the difference.

I’m keen to test out Liquid Text after hearing this.

I've started an online MBA program. The first class is Organizational Behavior. Its a lot of listening to podcasts and video presentations that provide ideas and concepts that I need to extrapolate and note down. I've found that drawing on the ipad those concepts as mind maps to help me connect ideas has been helpful, but I'm not sure is the most effective use of my time. By contrast we also have traditional textbook reading that is typically 60ish pages of reading with case studies, example scenarios, and theory or other keyword definitions. I've tried noting in Notion. But, admittedly, I haven't found a workflow or process across the different content sources that feels to be effective when it comes time to review and then use for my open note quizzes each week. I worry I'll figure out a flow for this class, only to have to change it up for the next class that will be different, statistics. I've already been told there is no text book for that class. I'd love help @samuel for input or guidance on how to do note taking for a degree that is changing subject matter from one class to the next.

Putting a lot of “aesthetics” into NOTE TAKING seems to be a suboptimal use of time resources unless you have a side gig of selling your class notes. Maybe someone will come up with AI software that will “aestheticize” your rough notes. Maybe someone will come up with some AGI that will …
@ashlynseah2575Ай бұрын
certain people find reviewing their notes more enjoyable when the notes are pleading to look at. Part of aesthetics also tends to force your notes to be clear and organised - which makes them much more understandable than rough notes. It varies from person to person but it can do wonders for some!
@Mentaculus42Ай бұрын
→ Ash Aesthetics does not improve understandably of notes, clear organization does. Besides “class notes” provide no time for aesthetics, while “study notes” do. “Lab notes” are somewhat less hurried but they are generally just input to a lab report. To spend time on aesthetics for personal notes that will not be viewed by others means that the student has “time to burn” and should have taken an additional class load. Aesthetics are great for a final report that gets turned in but even graded homework should be “clear and organized” but not too much “aesthetic sugar” unless some of it is in a reusable template. Aesthetics can be time consuming, but I understand the satisfaction that comes with it. That is why I hope some sort of artificial intelligence aid can be used someday but I suspect that to get good results will require serious effort to communicate “intent” to the “AI Aid”. The “automations” that I have used seem to always require a lot of knowledge and time to set up. Sophisticated tools have historically had longer learning curves. Again, time is the critical resource.

I find it is as the simplicity makes it easy for actually taking notes and the infinite canvas helps a lot. This is coming from someone that wanted to use anything but one note 😂

Hi. Thanks for your videos. I want to buy new ipad pro but i don't know 8 or 16 gb ram is good to buy? Can i write on heavy pdfs on goodnote and add more pics on pages and same time opening multiple pdfs and able to soft and fast scrolling on them? Does it need more ram? And when you write heavy on pdf's pages, does it slow down on loading that pages when you back scrolling on that pages? And file size of that pdfs, does it be more larger in the storage when you annotate more on pdfs? Did they fix that fountain pen setting to experience better annotation on pdfs? And did you try or use luma app for editing these videos? Does it need more ram for 4k60 long more than an hour videos?

God sent His only son Jesus to die for our sins on the cross. This was the ultimate expression of God's love for us. Then God raised Jesus from the dead on the third day. Jesus loves you ❤️ but the end times written about in the Holy Bible are already happening in the world. Please REPENT now and turn to Jesus and receive Salvation before it is too late. Time is running out.
