Oh, I wish my city would implement these measures instead of pandering to these drugged-out people who have moved to our city to be homeless. I have met with many homeless and NONE; I will repeat, NONE have ever had a good-paying job and an apartment in my city. Their circumstance was due to all their choices. They all have come from other cities to take what they can get without being accountable for their actions. I have talked with many outreach workers who say 9 out of 10 people they talk to refuse shelter. I really feel sorry for the paying customers at the hotels that New York put this druggie homeless in; they will only trash the place and perhaps even endanger the paying customers.

Exactly. There are many people who don’t deserve to be homeless but here in Chicago, most I’ve met very well dug their own grave

I had a bum that would get sloshed, sit on the ledge outside my window and warble all night long just a couple feet from where I tried to sleep. I called the cops and they asked him please leave. Bum said no and he stayed. I bet if there were some metal spikes out there it wouldn't have been a problem.

Yes, the homeless do have a right to public access to places. They absolutely, emphatically have the same right as everybody else does. What they DON'T have a right to do is homestead an area meant for the public, and live there.

I guess I understand the point of it, but it is truly unfortunate for those that don't have other shelter

I live in a small city ( about 100,000 ) people. There were a few homeless people living under a railroad underpass downtown. The city installed big rocks all over the are where they were sleeping and loitering . I haven’t seen any homeless in about year now. I want to sympathize with these homeless people but we had a bunch of homeless between where I worked at ( a hotel) and a Walmart behind us. I even found a few sleeping in stairwells and one in the gym.

I always thought loitering was in regards to hanging around a business with no money or intent to make a purchase. Public parks or spaces were designed for people to loiter, or just hang around.

This is so sad !!! Today in 2024 that people are living in such squaler !!!! With all the education and wealth, that's city leaders have and can't repair this mess !!! I have tried to help, but nobody seems to want to step forward.our cities leaders are just ignoring it , i personal talked to our mayor. And felt I was just wasting his time.. left thinking wow what time I wasted to !!!! They don't think that regular people have any ideas!!

I love how you were so gullible to eat up a made up term to argue against public property being preserved. Be mad at the criminals.

After first suggesting the bird spikes were anti-homeless, at least the video then mentioned they were for the birds, but even then still suggested they were about homeless as well. They are not. Also, many of the things shown were really more about protecting pubic and private property from the damage caused by skateboarders than they are about homeless people. The video quickly flashed a picture of a no skateboarding sign, but never mentioned this once.

Imagine if they addressed the issues that caused homelessness rather than criminalizing homelessness. These hostile architecture features are cruel and dont fix anything. Fo they think thd homeless problem just disappears because they cant hang out in those places anymore? Spend the money on shelters, mental health and drug treatment. Where's the humanity?

I'd rather have the trees and monuments blocked by a small fence over them being defaced daily. Its funny you made an entire video arguing with the reality of the situation though 😂
