After a big change of plan, we had 2 weeks to travel 110 miles & do 93 locks to get to our next destination to get the boat lifted out of the water for maintenance - but in classic boat life style - we faced some challenges along the way!
We used the Nebo app during our journey and its a great tool for all boaters that we highly recommend. You can download the Nebo App here - onelink.to/nebo

We are Adam & Lauren, we live full time on board our 59ft Narrowboat with our dog Shanti. We are excited to welcome you into our daily life as we continuously cruise around the British waterways.

Didn't like seeing how panicked you were Lauren, I really felt for you. But, that aside, it's SOOO good to have you guys back! You are 540hz.....as you'll probably know, that's the joy frequency! 😊 It's such a pleasure to accompany you both and Shanti on a part of your journey. Huge hug coming your way!....Tracy 🙏

Those holes not wasted, you have them now and can keep a regular check on whether you are taking on water. Every day a school day.

Thanks for showing that you have natural fears when your home is in danger. I looked at other KZbin vids to see if others had the same problems. Yes, they did: How could they not ?

We absolutely love you two - no matter what you always stay positive. The plus side now is you have two inspection holes (you should always have one at the rear btw). Paul & Yvonne. btw Tyrley locks gets everyone!!

Omg that must’ve been so scarey. Did u find out what caused your power to go off too ? Best wishes for a more peaceful cruise. You’re a brilliant team.

Loved this, my favourite one so far. Did you ever find out what caused the power to go out? That really would have freaked me out when it's so dark lol. Looking forward to your next one x😊

Forgot to add bit about sinking...lol Boats can list because of 1) ballast shifting 2) uneven weight distribution 3) too much weight on roof 4) water intake! 5) mooring ropes too tight when river/canal rises 6) stuck on bank when river falls I am sure there are more but its a start...

Great video as always, and you did learn something when she thought the boat may be sinking, now you have a way to check if, God forbid you were taking in water. But I would plug the two other holes up.

It is possible you were on a small silt bank. Not enough to ground you, but just enough to tilt you over a bit. Either that or somebody had one too many xmas puds, and was stood on one side of the boat 😅😅😅
@thefloatinghome17
@thefloatinghome17 Жыл бұрын
I think maybe both lol and also we have everything on one side of the boat like the sofa, kitchen and bathroom so it always tilts slightly.. but in a panicked moment it felt a lot more!

You should never ignore electrical issues on a boat - you never know when you need power in working order, for example, to power a bilge pump in an emergency. You can also shorten your batteries and potentially cause a fire.

I'm playing Assasins Creed Valhalla and it's set in England and you guys kept talking about thr river Trent and I had to check for it and sure enough it goes through like 3 or 4 territories? States? Not sure what you all call them but it would be states in the US.

Don't know about anyone else, but i'm feeling a bit dizzy. Audlem, Gailey to Tyrely locks via the River Trent seems a very odd cruise 🤔. Other than that, very entertaining.
