a good few, my first (and still only) outrun game was online arcade on ps3, i never really figured out the handling when i was young, it was only recently when i revisited it that i figured it out, and it's so much fun and very relaxing, i also found out i could use my logitech g29 wheel with the game for an authentic arcade experience a week ago, i do think outrun 2 deserves more attention, it feels strongly overshadowed by the original

As a kid, Outrun was my favourite arcade game. I remember once at Blackgang Chine on the Isle of Wight the Outrun stand up cabinet had been left with free play enabled and my and my sister wasted a good few hours playing. Great times :) Coast2coast on the PS was awesome - still got the original disc I brought *years* ago.

Used to dominate the OutRun 2 arcade charts when I was a teenager way back in 2004-2005ish! It would be lovely if it makes a comeback..

Personally I love Outrunners, with its HUGE soundtrack and it’s remixed original songs it’s probably the best of the series, as well with it’s different cars and all the countries to travel across.

I think it’s a good spin off series to outrun and they should think about maybe doing a remaster of it with modern graphics.

Late reply but out runners was definitely the better game back in the day and the soundtrack plus the actual speed of the cars was really cool. I would love a sequel on modern platforms.

@@VcArena In a way Outrun2 was a sequel to Outrunners as well. Between Outrun2 and Coast to Coast, many of the locales from previous entries were revisited: -from Outrunners you had Paris, Niagara Falls, Canyon, Egypt, Germany, San Francisco, Greece, Jungle represented -from Outrun you had Coconut Beach, Gateway, Devils Canyon, Cloudy Mountain, Alps, Wheat field, Vineyard represented... For Outrun 3 they might want to consider following the Outrunners model, it didn't use licensed cars, just lookalikes, might be handy if the Ferrari license is too costly...

@@lazarushernandez5827 true but the fictional cars based on real ones and unrealistic speed was what drew me to that game. But with outrun 2, the Ferraris didn't even hit their actual top speeds which was a turn off but I still loved it

Outrunners is a lot of fun and looks cool but its driving mechanics and poor framerate really kill it for me sadly. However I was blessed enough to play it at a pizza parlor that had a 4 player cockpit linked setup. The guy who bought that had to have been insane, but I played the hell out of it. 😍

fun fact: OutRun's parts can be found in sonic all stars racing and sonic all stars racing transformed, and also in some of the initial d arcade stage games and other sega's racing games

I've honestly never thought Ferrari was necessary for Outrun. I'd love for them to move on from it. Ferrari in 1986 was a completely different vibe than it is now. There are so many other brands and cars out there with more hype than Ferrari, and personally the way they handle licenses is so unfriendly they should just move on from it. :)

For sure. I have Outrun 2 on the OG Xbox. And just got Outrun 2006 for the PS2 for $70. People want around $300 for the Xbox version! 😓

They have to make a new one and a new after Burner game I have gone through climax and there is room for a new storyline and maybe new jets with DLC why haven’t they thought of adding DLC to these kinds of games it would help out a lot.

Will another outrun be made? Yes of course it will and even with the covid 19 pandemic there will still be one made since it’s a sega property that is still being played on today outrun 2 and XPDX versions especially. If they do make outrun 3 it would need to be made by you Suzuki himself and be differently to the other games that couldn’t be done before while maintaining the fundamentals of what made the other two games successful. My suggestions would be to include fantasy type/ surreal levels such as the tracks found in mariokart 8 like rainbow road where you drive round loops and corkscrews and play homepage to classic games like sonic the hedgehog loop the loop or driving through a river where the water forms a path at the bottom of the sea as a reference to Moses. They could also go mad and have whacky track courses where the track being formed is random such as the scene in Wallace and gromit the wrong trousers short film where gromit lays bits of the train tracks. Another cool feature would be to have a time warp feature where all the routes would have a past, present and future similar to sonic CD and back to the future film series and affect your route e.g. in the past a bridge would be unfinished but complete in the present or another would be decaying in the present and then broken in the future. That would make a a very worthy legendary outrun sequel living up to expectations but if they do sega mustn’t do what they did with Daytona 2016 because although a decent game it fails to live up to what made the other two games timeless classics or let another developer make outrun 3.

If Outrun 3 were to be developed, it would be better if it was developed by Raw Thrills, not by SEGA.

I'm not sure this kind of gameplay will work. Arcade games are not as popular as they used to be back in the days. That would mean not a lot of sales, and not a lot of sales means less chances of it actually being developed. I'd really love to see an OutRun 3. Let's hope we can see it in this very decade.

My favorite outrun game is actually a spin-off you didn’t list, “Outrun 2019”. This is because I prefer it’s unique look at how the future could have been over the stereotypical B-movie gimmick of taking a hot chick on a joyride across (insert place).

That has to be the worst game in the series. Nothing to do with Outrun, none of the original team worked on it as it was made by a 3rd party. Complete rubbish.
