8:32 leave me wondering, even since 8:26. How will they manage the already present investors like "us"? And if we get kicked out what will happen to the current/pending investments

Good questions, according to our knowledge, the regulator hasn't decided yet which countries will be allowed and if there are going to be any restrictions. Chances are that this won't affect investors from the EEA. We could imagine that investors from "unsupported" countries won't be able to invest in newly listed loans anymore. The lender / p2p platform will likely need to repay the loans back with the accrued interest.

I predict that Mintos will be the first one who will obtain a licence, especially taking in account their team on LinkedIn that seems fairly strong.

The exact details of this protection scheme are yet unclear as the terms are being currently negotiated.

I'm pretty sure it will make many investors from Spain to avoid this investments due to KYC policies, but overall it will improve the reliability on the marketplace

Thanks for your comment. Why do you think that investors from Spain would avoid P2P lending due to the KYC policies?

@@P2PEmpire This year we are experiencing more surveillance from tax agencies, specially towards crypto and investments on other countries, either stocks, P2P, and so. From the circle of investors I know, they gravitate towards platform where KYC is not present, so they don't mind jumping from one to another to defer as much as possible the taxes on earnings. As an example, you can defer index funds or ETFs earnings until you decide to sell, but since P2P platforms have this earnings deposited in your account, a KYC would most likely mean tax agency will be linked to the platform and earnings have to be notified immediately, thus reducing the % earned each year and not making a lot of sense to invest for the risk involved.

@@AR-ly5zt Thanks for the detailed answer, quite interesting actually. The tax situation is definitely not optimal for P2P investments.
