Is Pakistan a Talent Repellent Country? I Brain Drain: A Critical Concern

ARE WE A #Talent REPELLENT COUNTRY?
#Braindrain is a critical concern in #Pakistan, characterized by a substantial outflow of highly skilled #professionals seeking brighter prospects abroad. Factors such as economic #hardships, political instability, social suffocation and #security concerns act as compelling push factors, while the allure of better #opportunities and pay-offs abroad serves as a strong pull factor.
While the talent movement is essential to the continual renewal of knowledge in any country, it is worrisome when a country lacks the essential skills that are required to keep abreast with the global #knowledge pool and the needs of a modern #economy. Does Pakistan have adequate human #capital for its own needs?
- Do we have adequate opportunities for talent? With lateral entry sporadic and not all government jobs openly competitive, is there adequate room for good people in the #government?
- Are key jobs open to talented Pakistanis from anywhere? With Seth firms, is there any room for talent in the #corporate sector?
- With the current highly regulated economy, how easy is #entrepreneurship?
- Is the #incentive structure a barrier to attract talent into government, with
such incentives available to the incumbents alone?
- Is #investment growth and #productivity slowed down by a lack of talent?
- What can be done to retain talent? What kind of government policies can help reverse the #talent exodus?

I think there is a good following of PIDE and Blackhole by the Indians. Common people of India desire to see a developed society in Pakistan free of influence from Mullahs, Religion and Military. On the contrary, we really love to see Pakistani society as a Rational society where religion is a private space having nothing to do collectively.

Is it a Indian platform or made for Indians? No, it's for pakistani youth and their development. If they are not interested in their country's development then why should take it seriously? if there is something positive that we can take out obviously we will take it.

So true, it's very typical of Muslims. They run away from their own countries where the economy and other conditions are usually bad, only to end up wanting to create the same conditions in their host country. It is the religion and the tribal expansionism.

As an Indian, I think the fault of Government and Fauj in Pakistan is too much interference in affairs of an individual citizen. Let people criticize Fauj and Government and they will create careers of Journalism and Activism through that. You will also get Funding which will create jobs. But if the Army stays so insecure, then you will only get the situation you are in. 250 Million Pakistanis are there just to serve just 10,000 ( Elite and Generals And Landlords and their Families )

Great intellectual show. Sadly none of the panelists, like always, avoid Daniel and discuss the issue fearlessly. PAKISTAN can resolve the issues for Pakistan in 25 years from now IF THEY SHUT ALL THE MADRASAS. Period. You will then have a generation who would have the EQ and skill sets to take Pakistan to a great height. The issue is brainwashing before the child is 10. GL to you all 😊😊

"Zooming in" was an accident. "Zooming out is a choice." To die in increment may not be a choice. But to rot away in a House of Prostitution" is a choice. There can not be a dynamic industrial sector with an intact army state. Without a flourishing industrial sector, there is no possibility for the young to enhance its talent. Without the application of talent, the talent either would die out or run away to other places. Top priority of Pakistan army state is to perpetuate the army state. It has its own industries. It owns the best land. Its expenditure stays outside the reach of any civil institutions. In order to justify its very existence, Pakistan army generals need Jihad and American dollars. Billions of dollars enriched the military generals in the last four decades. If the innocents died in this noble cause, they were given the title of "martyrdom." They run political puppet shows. The DULL just zoomed in from London. The DIM zoomed out--- rotting in jail. The debased Muslims, fully drugged watching political acrobatics, want more. The "House of Prostitution" marches on with the assistance of I.M.F

Somebody needs to ask the panelists, Are you talented? Talent is not if you have a good job in Pakistan. Job in Pakistan can be in due to many reasons, like nepotism, etc. Talent is if you are recognised internationally.

How good is the talent wen you still have no transparency and merit based system only people with political relations are the one who will get jobs except recently some improvements have been seen but suboptimal I know a brilliant guy who couldn't get a teachers post after interviews due to lack of political connections but he managed to pass CSS and got a good job imagine an ordinary guy with connections chosen over an intelligent person who topped CSS exams the harsh reality ( these attitudes will shape the future of our country)

The quality of participants in the PIDE discussions is very poor. When a country’s senior business leaders, business owners and bureaucrats have such pedestrian level thinking not difficult to figure out why Pakistan is where it is in the global pecking order. Very poor analytical thinking and thought leadership !!

If you don't believe me, go ask any canadian, usa, uk etc... settled person that you also wanna go there, they will say they are already dying, dont come here lol

Thanks pide.Talent is capability of value addition in existing knowledge. People are born talented ,system only can promote are creat barrier. Our system does not support talent but a class who are talented for bad business practices and continuously innovating in it . Professionalism is as written in their duties is not need of our ruling elite, but competency is measured by ,how someone perform to satisfy the wishes of the higher authorities not the institute.
