Like imo its hard to say if they're too strong or too weak considering in my experience you only see conditional, precision shotties, or some villian still running around with chaperone getting handed crits and deep kills on a silver platter but overall I feel like with bungie giving us some loose numbers on special weapon usage in crucible now is a REALLY good time to open up a serious conversation on overall lack of balance in the crucible and what it'll take to move the needle without making crucible as a whole less fun for everyone. As someone who loves bows I have VERY STRONG opinions on the overall sandbox and I was curious about yours but this is a shotgun video so thats where my focus was centered

I got the first roll that they give when you finish the quest and immediately enhanced it. The enhanced Dual Loader lets you load 3 shells at a time. It feels great to punch, shoot 3 shots, reload once, punch, then shoot 3 shots and repeat.

Pretty sure trench barrel on a rapid fire is actually a DPS loss so you're essentially just saving ammo by using it. Haven't tested it in awhile but essentially you could shoot 4 shots quicker and do more damage than a melee and 3 shots. Might not be true anymore, but used to be.

The BIGGEST miss this weapon have is NOT having Discord in third column. For Melee builds, it would have been absolutely crushing as an add clear weapon.

I started playing D2 in Shadowkeep. I remember doing the Curse of Osiris quests, then saving Saint and getting the Paradox. It was my main shotgun until Beyond light hit. I am so happy to have my shotgun back.

I had actually target farmed a One Small Step (moon destination shotgun) that was dual loader trench barrel. The goal was to loop stylish executioner melees, and that was shortly after void 3.0 had dropped, and before they undid the reload penalty of dual loader. The goal was that trench improved reload speed, so punch, weaken, shoot two shots, and reload quickly what you had just expended. The origin trait alone on Paradox fixes the problem entirely, which advocates even further your suggestion of pugilist. One Small Step just became completely powercrept.

Hey CoolGuy and viewers, you might not see this, but if you do, I was wondering if you've noticed slides being SIGNIFICANTLY less consistent right after starting sprint after the Final Shape update. I've done a lot of testing with the slide and sprint inputs after the patch, hours of rebuilding controllers and troubleshooting, and it seems like there's a new deadslide bug in the game that seriously neuters the ability to quickly slide from a standstill. Has anybody else noticed this at all?

YES, I have noticed this and it only started happening after the Final Shape update. While playing on Prismatic Titan, I'll get a lot of Frenzied Blade swipes after quickly sliding from a stand still, instead of a Consecration slam. It's so annoying.

Nah i dont think , im on console too and i tested alot of things in the past like u cant slide directly or right after swaping weapons. One thing i noticed is they changed some little input things like now to reload you need to press and release before it start reloading .. kkinda weird and stupid decision idk

As much as i love hearing from all the other D2 content creaters too, I always feel like you have the best balance of level headed and "just for the fun of it" opinions on weapon reviews and destiny content. I got a dual loader one two roll and honestly, it doesn’t really do anything particularly better than the dares shotgun i run for punch builds. I just really like the look and the way my hunter holds it up in the air on the screen lol. Everything is fashion😂

I really think Bungie should've gone more crazy with this return weapon. Perfect Paradox should've had perks like Kinetic Tremors and One-Two Punch in the adjacent column to Trench Barrel... like really make it worth grinding for IMO.

Bungie has provided us with lots of very good grenade launcher, glaive, and rocket sidearm options for Special Ammo PvE weapons. That’s true! However, a rapid-fire PvE shotgun is still fire with good synergistic perks. Don’t hate it until you have tried it.

I don’t think rapid fires could ever roll full auto because they have intrinsic full auto from their frame and that also gave the insane fire rate

@@thatguyyouhate3743 back in the day, before making the full auto setting and full auto trigger weapon mod, there used to be a full auto perk that increased the rate of fire for certain weapons like shotguns. it may have only been by like 50% but that with assault mag made the few rapids with it feel kinda insane. tho now you can a couple rapid fire shotguns (and atleast one crafted) with overflow and cascade point. which gives you super super fast ammo dumps with huge mags.

CoolGuy is absolutely correct (as usual, I should add). Kinetic Rapid-fire frame shotguns are (and always have been) terrible in Crucible, but a select few of them (RIP my Threat Level from the Scourge raid) including Perfect Paradox, can perform as PvE monsters. There is a reason why Bungie has ONLY ever introduced three legendary Kinetic 140 rpm shotguns throughout the entire lifespan of D2. And the only two good ones, out of those three, were “sunset” years ago. I REALLY want Threat Level to return. But until then, I hope to get a really good Perfect Paradox, and you should, too (unless you *only* play PvP).

While they are hit really hard by the current ammo system, I will say that i have really enjoyed using the ikelos rapid fire shotgun with enhanced surrounded. Complete neuron activation moment when you full auto kill 2 or 3 that are pushing blind around a corner

My old paradox had demo and trench but I have a Baso Ostinado with envious assassin and trench now and in combination with the new exotic titan chest piece it gives my micro rockets from the intrinsic perk a boost as well! I'll still be chasing that pugilist trench roll tho!

I might still go for this just because I have fond memories of the OG Perfect Paradox... but honestly already have shotguns that do this. Do it very, very well in the same archetype and same damage type. The origin perk's a nice bonus but it's hardly worth hunting in my opinion. May try for a Pugilist/One-Two Punch version of Perfect Paradox, though, maybe some of the other perks that build into melee.

To be honest, if this had Cascade Point, I would have been sold on this almost immediately. I would have taken Field/Cascade for lots of ammo and Cascade to basically use it as a mag dumper, like Until Its Return. But I think I'll stick with Someday.
