No it was not an accident ! This was pure negligence on the defendants part . She did what so many people do … she shoved the dogs outside alone for however long assuming it would be fine in the yard and not thinking about what could go wrong . If she knew the dog was a digger then it should not have been left alone to be able to dig . I am willing to bet that dog was out there alone for a long time . People assume a fenced yard is all the protection you need but you still have to use common sense especially dogs who dig because they will find the weak spot and go after it . I know I have a beagle and hes a digger. You learn fast not to leave him alone in the yard. This was not an accident . She can’t take any responsibility for her own actions it’s oh but they did this and they did that every time Judy points out mistakes made by the defendant. This woman is a narcissist and I would not hire her to babysit a goldfish!

The owner even said that she has a doggy door, meaning that she lets the dogs have as much outside time as they’d like without her supervision, so the idea that the sitter was expected to keep a close watch on the dog in a fenced yard is wild.
