PMP certification is indeed worth the effort you put in! I did it five years ago, and I am using it now in digital projects. I have got two projects in parallel now. I started using TeamGantt, and I love your videos. In addition, I can register viewing your videos as PMP PDUs :-)

What about the continual education? Seems like 20 PDUs a year (60 every 3) is quite a lot to maintain the PMP.

With regards to your comment for managing people, PMP has added servant leadership as a knowledge body. Therefore, knowing how to lead and having at least 5 years of leadership experience made those questions easy for me. YOU DO NEED TO KNOW HOW TO LEAD and APPLY SOFT SKILLS TO PASS.

Another point, you do not need experience of “leading” a project. You need 4,500-7,500 of full PMBOK lifecycle experience to establishing eligibility to take the PMP test.

I'm interested in getting PMP certified and have been working towards requirements for this. Any recommendations on what training programs are worth checking out? Would love to get a study group going for other PM interested as well. Some background on me: I have been doing project work for the digital consumer print and business signage industry for about 5 + years. I have no additional education beyond my HS Degree and a pmp boot camp I took almost 6 years ago. I have lead projects from a variety complexities with both internal and external partners across the many different teams, from individual divisions to leadership group. Additionally, I am self taught in most PM methodologies including Agile. So for anyone interested, dont be afraid of starting from the bottom remember we all start somewhere. Let's get a study group started and get certified together. 😁

I took a PMP basics course provided by the company I was working in, given by employees with PMP certification by PMI. I agree the requirements for the certification are tough to gather (at least for me). So, I'm looking for other certifications that could add value withouth having the PMP. You mentioned you are a certified Scrub Master, in comparison with PMP how complicated is it? From your fear of tests, I guess a lot less. ;) I work more in Supply Chain projects. Any recommendations?

I think it's not worth it, it's too expensive to prepare, pass and maintain
