Great video! I'm enjoying these quick and caffeinated series.

Post mortem sessions are not retrospective. That's a common misunderstanding. Post mortem is directed to the future with view backwards to identify what can get wrong, to identify hazards to the project. The hypothetical assumption is, that the project will fail and then to find out why this project has failed. That means after you established project plan and milestones, have meeting where the team imagine they are at a certain point of time in the future at which the project hast failed and the to identify why.

I am distracted by the Rilo Kiley album behind you. One of my favorite bands! But on a related note, we call post mortems “Lessons Learned”. I like the term Post Mortem though. May use that next time as a tribute to my true crime obsession. Love this video series!

One of mine too, Nina. :) Thanks for sharing the name you use. I've heard these meetings calls a lot of things, mostly because people do not love the term "post mortem". I guess it gives them the chills. I guess the most important thing isn't the name as much as the outcomes of the meeting. Thanks for watching!
