Like stated in the discussion. Somalian unity can be achieved by focusing on a handful of common interests amongst ALL SOMALIS. Food security, infrastructure development, health security, education, anti-corruption, security in general. Intelligent leadership would rally around these topics. Somalia has the potential to become on of east africa's power houses in the upcoming decades. Why? Here are some reasons... 1) Coastal key geographical access to growing markets alongside the BRICS+ main routes. (Asia-Africa). 2) Demographics 3) Highly educated diaspora in various sectors like IT, economics, health (Knowledge and Skills Transfer). 4) Numerous natural resources such as iron ore, uranium, copper, tin, bauxite, gypsum, salt, and natural gas and oil. 5) Untapped potential for tourism. Let me just stop here. The list goes on btw. Unstability and internal conflicts perhibit the manifestation of a new golden somali era. Archaic clan rivalry amongst self centered "leaders" is something to be left in the past if Somalia really wants a prosperous future for ALL SOMALIS. Africas problem with weak and corrupt leadership doesn't exclude Somalia but we have seen that multiethnical nations can grow and change course effectively. Several african nations have shown that in the past. A good recent example would be the west african coastal country of Senegal. The predominantly muslim nation is multiethnic (Wolof, Pulaar, Sereer, Mandinka, Jola, Soninke and more). Around the same population like Somalia they now democratically elected a 44 year old former tax inspector who openly published his assets (His bank accounts hold roughly $6,600) beforehand. The election itself went peaceful and the results have been accepted by all participating parties. Current economic growth rate around 8,5 %. Guess what they don't have? Clan rivalry and tribal partisanship. Somalia is blocked by self induced hardheadedness and backward sectarianism. The moment these problems dissolve the horn of africa will see another golden era. Insha'Allah. Salaan my beloved brothers and sisters. ❤

We all were one Somali until the British broke us up. My father is from the Isaaq tribe in Somaliland. Our great poet and warrior Hassan fought the British and prevented them from making Somalis slaves as they did in West Africa. We fought the Portuguese to, and all other invaders. We are Somalis it is the blood line even though we came from different Tribes that has broken up into clans. We have been fighting for centuries petty of us over land that is already ours. The land belongs to all Somalis and Somalis only. My people are 200 years behind they think they are still fighting with swords. Now we have three armies with guns and bombs, pirates and planes. We are capable of wiping each other out for good. The British were wrong, Barre was wrong, and the killing of civilians were wrong. The splitting us up is wrong. All Somalis should be independent and help our country grow strong, rich and peaceful. We may have a love and ancient hatred for each other, from centuries past. That can only change for the better in time. The question is when? It is now 2024, I feel this year or 2025 this epic saga, this generational conflict will climax, this old story will end for the better or worst. However, we do have to live on the same land, and share it because, it is not yours, mine it' is ours. Separating and telling Somalis they are not Punt Lander's or Somalilander's or Somali, and they can't go here or there is wrong. Selling our land to non Somalis is wrong, and it is stealing from the Somali people. The Ethiopian MOU deal with Somaliland hasn't gone through as of yet, and if Ethiopia insist on stealing or invading our land it will be war. Honor Hassan and Huru/Horus and come together and live and let live in peace. You can't run or hide from your blood line. We can't deny that we are all Somalis. Although we embrace Allah, but we come from the god of the underworld Pluto, who has never left us. We have been living on his dark side lets change for the better, and live on his bright side moving forward. I burn a candle to honor Hassan and Huru/Horus my and our ancestors every night. Peace!

The video features a valuable discussion with knowledgeable experts, but there are a couple of aspects that could be enhanced. First, the use of older and unnecessary clips by Al Jazeera doesn't fully capture the current state of Somalia. While challenges persist, there are positive developments that could have been showcased for a more balanced perspective. Additionally, the absence of a pro-federal government participant in the discussion creates a bias, limiting diverse viewpoints on governmental strategies and decisions. Including a broader range of perspectives would have enriched the conversation and promoted fairness.

The "Senator" from Somaliland accuses politicians of being power mongers. Yet he calls himself a "senator" and claims to talk out of "authority." Who elected him? Can he even go to Somaliland? Whom is he deceiving? He talks good English by a Somali standard, and I will give him that. May be it is because his Senatorial office is in Minneapolis 😅

Last 33 years Somalia suffer from western, neighbouring countries and Some gulf countries's direct Political interventions with the help of some so-called Somali Politicians who always benefit from the distribution and destabilisation of their own country, Also Somali nomadic culture of killing each other for hundreds of years is part of the problems This time is worst because most of uneducated people are in both houses of the parliament, ministers and other government sectors, We are a way too far from becoming stable and stronger Somali same as before 1991.

me as Somali live in Mogadishu, the absolute answer is no!, Somalia needs its own way of government, 4.5 clan based federal will never work it will only increase extremism, who will allow 2024 you are less citizen or half citizen 1/2, the answer is no, they will never be loyal to the government and will prefer resistant like al-Shabaab or any other form. I'm civilian and there is something we cant say because of our security.

I was born in this country and trust me i lost the hope. I dont think that Somalis will unite. They cannot rule themselfs. For more than 30 years! Still same problem. No unity , no stable and functioning government. Tribalism, corruption. They cannot even bring their currency back to live! We use dollars and other foreign currency. What kind a government is this????

Suspicious! that none of the guests mentioned the British support of cessation of somalialand. A;sp. no mention of Turkiye, who many somalians are depending upon for assistance with both buying coastal land, as well as help with security. Nor did anyone mention the divisive forces of the UAE, who had their soldiers murdered by a somalian soldier. Nor, the fact that HSM is selling off somalia land to the highest bidder, but at the same time, does not want to let ethiopia do the same thing, that the americans, turkey are doing on somalia coast land, which is setting up military ships. The guests were too on the same page, which did not discuss many of the problems, mentioned above. Lastly, why did no one mention Eritrea who has played a peace keeping role many times between HSM and the neighbors and arab regional powers. Strange!

HSM is the president of Somalia and whatever you say will not change that. State leaders do not have the right to derail the national agenda because they feel like they’re more important than they actually are. You will bend the knee or the knee will be bent for you. There is no compromise or debate about this matter. Villa Somalia rules over you and you will accept that reality.

@@mo435 HSM is only the leader of looting. He has no power and he will embarrass himself only. It is better for him to return to Afsiyoone instead of looting innocent Hawiye people's money and taxes for his own coffers. Somalia deserves a real leader that can unite the people like Shariif and Farmaajo. HSM is such a failure that he cannot unite Somalia while Ethiopia is making attempts to annex our territory. He will be in the history books ad the most corrupt and inept leader in Somalia's history. And those that follow him will be considered the biggest clowns.
