I just bought PSVR2 for Grand Turismo 7 and Kayak Mirage. Both Games are just amazing. I never played virtually a better race game than Grand Turismo 7 and also Kayak Mirage in connection with the motion controllers which can be installed as Kayak-Paddles are just great. I hope SONY will release some other title like this as soon as possible.

@@schikey2076 VR was first introduced to the playstation community on the PS4. It was the best selling headset or that first generation. One of the big problems when PSVR2 was announced they also announced how it was not backwards compatible. Also back when PSVR1 first came out that was the cheapest option to get into VR. Rift + touch controllers + PC was well over $2,000 compared to PS4 + PSVR= $700-$800 but now all you need is a Quest2 for $250. And a Quest2 can be hooked up to a PC both wired and wirelessly as well for PCVR.

I'm currently looking at PSVR2. I want one... but there are TWO HUGE problems: 1) The price. It's more expensive than the PS5. That's insane. and 2) The vast majority of the games have very, VERY LOW BUDGET looking graphics. I don't normally have a problem with indie games with budget graphics, but the vast majority of the games on PSVR2 are low budget looking graphics (and that's a huge problem considering the very expensive price of the PS VR2). This is a step down from the original PS VR. Yes, the PS4 isn't as powerful as the PS5 and the tech in the PS VR headset isn't as good as the PS VR2, but most of the games on the original PS VR actually had nice looking graphics where the human characters and environments looked impressive and didn't look like crap. While there are a few good looking PS VR2 games (like Horizon Call of the Mountain and a FEW others) a large number of PS VR 2 games aren't taking advantage of the more powerful tech and look really terrible. This seriously needs to change (and the graphics problem also applies to A LOT of newer VR games as well on Steam and Quest. It seems like very low budget indie devs are the primary teams working on VR games now days and a lot of them aren't able to pump out impressive looking games compared to the higher budget VR games from a few years ago). I would love sequels or spiritual sequels to impressive looking games that were on the original PS VR for the PS VR 2 like Blood & Truth, Summer Lesson, Everybody's Golf VR, Iron Man, Focus on You, etc.

The psvr2 is awesome the only reason i sold mine and got a quest 3 instead is because the lenses are fresnel and the mura is so noticeable for me it completely killed my immersion always having to adjust and find a sweet spot. The pancake lenses really are the go to

After getting a Quest 3, it was pretty tough having to go back to PSVR2. Still glad i bought VR2 simply for Resident Evil Village and the first half or so of RE4 Remake VR. Everything else, for the most part, has been a bit disappointing. Once you experience pancake lenses, it's impossible to go back to something like fresnel. Pancake has superior clarity, a wide sweet spot, no god rays or any glare to speak of. It's almost like peering through a window, or would be if the resolution were even higher, and it had a micro-oled display for perfect blacks & richer/vibrant colours.

I would like to play VR but I'm not going to literally have to pay the same amount as a PS5 and then start a whole new library of games. I'd have to feel really confident in the future of PlayStation's proprietary platform. Frankly the only one that's affordable enough that I would consider would be the meta but I hate Facebook so I'm not going anywhere near that either. I'm just not destined to be part of any kind of vr community

Well bought a psvr2 system from walmart in july it had the controller problems so i said the hell with it gave it to a friend and then bought a new one again yesterday after charging up these controllers spending in total 1200 for two vr2 systems and guess what same problem with this one the controllers work fine untile you launch into a game then you have to rest and then they only work part time and not even correctly so yeah im done sony can kiss my well you know i am returning this p.o.s tomorrow and getting my money back i do not recommend this $600 paper weight it is trash i mean it has been out for over a year and they still have not fixed the issue they had with it day one and now sony are slowing down production on vr2 games and release a broken pc adapter so you can try to play pc vr games so sony dont have to invest any money in supporting their own product just pathetic

One thing that also hold back psvr2 is the fact you cant play the psvr games with the headset. Resident evil 7 is one of my favorite vr games but only works on the first headset and doesnt work with the second one. Wich is very sad. I hope they will port more of these games to work on the new psvr2

Yeah this is mostly why I haven't bought PSVR2. I bought a bunch of PSVR1 games and not being able to play any on PSVR2 is crap, along with the damn plugged in wire. If I could play Astro Bot Rescue Mission, Dreams, Iron Man VR, Resident Evil 7, that Walking Dead game and others on PSVR2, then I would buy it immediately. Currently, the lack of good variety of content, wireless mode, backwards compatibility and compatibility with my other devices (e.g. PC/Mac), as well as anything else innovative (e.g. social features, Second Life-type features, new ways to play old games, etc), makes it a hard sell. I think I'll actually skip PSVR2 at this rate and wait for PSVR3 instead, as that'll likely be wireless and have more features, innovation, compatibility and good content.

The mistake was not making PSVR2 standalone and betting on high end VR.

The real mistake was settling for fresnel lenses and not using Pancake + QD-LCD. It's cabled/tethered, has a tiny sweet spot, bulky front uncomfortable visor, onion ring controllers, doesn't even have numbers for it's IPD dial. too many blemishes for it to be a success no matter how many great games it gets.

Yeah, I'm probably gonna wait for PSVR3 instead, as that'll likely be wireless with more features, innovation, compatibility and good content. Plus I got burned last time, buying a bunch of PSVR1 games that I cannot play on PSVR2, so even if I did get PSVR2 (which is a huge hard sell right now due to lacking the aforementioned things), I have no idea whether PSVR2 games will work on PSVR3.

I have a lot to play that may have justified the purchase and at the time if I bought a meta I was thinking of all the accessory costs and games I’d maybe need to rebuy. While I already had some games ready for PSVR2. That said, it is saddening that it looks like there isn’t much beyond what I have now, but the saving grace for me personally may be PC VR. Hopefully it can take advantage of foveated rendering on there too, but I’m not holding my breath.

I think the PSVR2 is going to stay in the background and steadily trickle out games for the next few years, its great that its going to be compatible with PC but i dont think thats going to shift loads of units but on the plus side devs will have more access to the headsets capabilities and they will be able to optimise their games better for it.

$550 even with PCVR supper is way to high. You can get a Quest 3 which have superior specs (Pancake lens, higher resolution) for less money. Quest3 can do both stand alone and wired/wireless PCVR. PSVR2 should be priced at $400. That seems more reasonable. Even then its still an uphill battle since the Quest2 exist and that cost only $250. Quest2 can do stand alone and wired/wireless PCVR as well. When PSVR2 first launched Quest2 were being sold for $400-$500 so PSVR2 at $550 didnt seem so bad. But in 2024 with Q3 at $500 and Q2 at $250 and PSVR2 at $550 yeah its too $$$

Quest 3 has superior specs but because most ppl still own a quest 2, quest 3 cannot capatalize on those specs. Most quest games look mediocre and if its a game That releases for both meta and psvr2, it will almost always look and feel better on psvr2. The quest 2 is holding quest 3 back. Because quest 2 is still in market, developers have to release games for quest 3 with quest 2 in mind. I do agree that psvr2 should be priced at $400…. Or AT MOST $500, same price as console, not over, but even thats a reach. $400 to $450 would be fair

Cannot use Pancake lenses on the OLED screens as pancake lenses your reduce brightness by 60% so not bright enough, also would not be able to have HDR. Quest 3 has shitty LCD screens and colours and contrast does not pop like the PSVR2
