@Jedii Kniight American comedians fall too easily into talking about their race, dating, and sex. Sometimes I almost feel a computer could write 50% of the average American comedian's routine. It sounds like this: _“Hey wow! Great to be here! What a great-looking audience! Yeah! I love this city, I love New York. It's a great place to be... white._ [laughs] _I'm white, spoilers,_ [laughs] _as you may have noticed._ [claps] _Some of you are there like, ‘yay white!”_ [laughs] _and yeah I love New York because people here say what they think. It's great. I dated this girl from New York, gorgeous, great body, and she was like, you know what I like about you? You're not like the other guys. And I was like aw thanks! You too! Then she said, Other guy's care so much about how they look. And I was like... I don't like where this is going._ [laughs] _I said, what do you mean? And she was like, other white guys, you know, they try so hard to look cool, but you're just comfortable being white. And I was like, yeah OK. You're hot. I'll take it._ ” [laughs] You get the idea. It practically writes itself.

RUSSELL IS THE KING OF BRITISH COMEDY
@cluelesscheese12 жыл бұрын
Been watchin Russel Howard since 2007 or 2008 he talked about the lady in their uk version of world weekly news who claimed to have a ghost in her womb only to find out it were henry the 8th! He also made a joke about the queen impersonating a stamp that has free rent in my mind now too. Glad to see you on Stevens show! (Was never surprised he got his own show, i watch often and all the quiz shows too he really lights up the dais!)

Oh, I've always loved him. I started watching him on the comedy show, "Mock the Week" which has full episodes up on YT. It's too bad he wasn't interviewed about his career. He did a multi-part special in 2020, visiting New Zealand, after a two week hotel quarantine, talking to all kinds of interesting people, seeing the sights. I recommend it.

"News of the World"?!... Do you mean "Mock the week"?
@lemonielala30802 жыл бұрын
@@gusheredia the theme song says news of the world so I'm guessing that's the one they meant. 🤷♀️

I love this man. He's so wholesome. Not many comedians steer away from the smut like he does.

I take it you haven't seen much of his work?

You haven’t watched a lot of work. I suggest you KZbin some of his work

@@bridgetdee7094 I have seen a lot of his work. Compared to other comedians like Frankie Boyle, his smut is adorable. He is an adorable man period. I find that adorableness wholesome.

I'm a huge fan of Russell. Been watching the RHH for a couple of years now (thank you, internet). I was really excited to see that he was on Colbert. More Americans should watch him.

He's great. If you want to see a whole season of him being a total lad, I recommend his Taskmaster episodes

Russell was so great on Taskmaster! Can you imagine if Stephen Colbert ever went on it? I would pay to see him interact with Greg Davies in any setting 😂

I'm so happy that Russell's wisdom and energy is reaching America, and I'm simply in awe of this new set of his. Absolute poetry, and hilarious at the same time. Without sounding too pompous, I want to imagine how people like this (and I could name so many more) were sometimes called "prophets" in ancient times, speaking truth to power and not taking any shit. And not pretending they're perfect or flawless or all-knowing, even while laying down utter truth-bombs -- the only kind of bomb any human should be OK with, incidentally. We have to be more like prophets, all of us, each of us.

No. No one wants him breaking in like Corden or Oliver.

Hilarious! Would love to see more comedians on the show, especially the struggling up and comers. An appearance on Colbert could start a great career.
