I am nearly 30 and autistic. I was a very angry teen with lots of outburst like your boy, we really don't want to hurt our loved ones but we simply can not process our anger in those moments we value our possessions very little and make mistakes. Around the time I left high school for college I lost all the anger in my body and now has a adult I'm a quiet friendly giant and wouldn't hurt a fly. Give Andy time ride the waves and sooner before later he will learn right and wrong just like I did I'm sure of it, he will understand his triggers and he will understand what you are doing for him but right now he is struggling with that, i know because I've been in his position.

I should add I've gained so much independence and with my parents health getting worst every couple months I'm now repaying their sacrifices/care by looking after them now and making sure they are ok. I never had a social worker or restbite and I could never live on my own but now I have much more independence in my life where I can be on my own and safe.

Good Q&A. I had asked where the girls were and had my question indirectly answered. This is a blended family! Since I am a fairly new subscriber I didn't know that. It would take hours for me to go back and watch every single video. I just watched a video of Andy from 3 years ago and he has really grown since then! I think you have some good options for Andy in the future. Glad Anna is able to pursue her career at this time. In the meantime be calm, carry on and one day at a time. That is all any of us can do.

i have been living with my dad from when i was a kid till now. and i am 24. as a kid we had social workers but my dad took me off from there care because it was to much. and i am fine with living with him. i would love to live on my own but my mantel health is to bad for that.

Wow, the whole thing with Anna not being able to be on video, not being able to say where you are going or what you are doing, makes me reaaallly wonder what kind of job she is doing and why such strict rules. Is it for safety or just her employers preference or another reason. Andy will definitely need supported living with staff on site 24/7. Yes I agree that as soon as he can go into supported living like me it will be good. Theres things like money carer and Our guardian care that help with money being looked after for Andy when he is in supported living that can make sure bills get paid such as tv licence and water bills and gas and electricity and internet. Andrew Tabor one of the other tenants where I live has his money looked after.

Don't worry about being seen as selfish for not wanting to be Andy's carers and living your own life. I'm the same as well, but with caring for my mum, especially as I have so many plans for the future, but one of my biggest fears is that it could be permenant. Anyway, you could still ensure that Andy gets the independance he needs by teaching him money and how to manage it, to take the train/bus/tram alone, to do household chores such as dishwashing and vaccuming, cooking. These are all vital skill that all teens need to learn for when they moves out in the adult world.
