I agree 100%. It depends on our body and how we prepare it. As a person with loads of food allergies, I can bravely say that white Basmati or Jasmine rice are the only grains that are very gentle towards my digestive system. However, for the people with poor digestive system like me and for an easy digestion, I recommend to wash the rice 2 or 3 times, then soak the rice in cold water two hours before cooking to rehydrate it. Then you can start the cooking process.

Eating rice is actually good, I’ve been eating that since birth. Haha Asian perks here but its benefits will actually depends how much you it. 1-3 cups of rice a day are enough. Many of us avoida eating too much rice to avoid getting fat but getting enough of it is actually good for some health benefits and economical tributes. For example, if your usual meal consume 2 pieces of chicken, well, if you have rice, a half piece of chicken will work in combination of the chicken itself or of its soup. ^_^

Though you skimmed through that "depends on how you cook the rice" but you did not mention any process of cooking it. It will be like a replacement for mashed potatoes when served with other viands. Here are just some ways of simple rice cooking: Method#1: Boiling In a pot, rinsing the rice gently with clean water and drain it. (Do it 2 times) For 1 to 3.5 cups of rice, add the same amount of water plus half a cup; For 4 to 6 cups of water, add the same amount of water plus 1 cup. (amount of water normally depends on the variety of rice) Put it on top of the stove to cook on high heat When it starts to boil, put heat to low and mix it once for fluffier, softer rice. When the top is dry, remove from fire. If cooked in a rice cooker, just cook and leave it there until the top of the rice is dry. Method#2: Frying Left-Over rice can be fried in a wok/frying pan. Mash the left-over rice until soft (add some water to soften it; and salt to taste (about a teaspoon)). Fry (until lightly brown) some crushed and chopped-up garlic in a wok with little vegetable oil. Add the mashed rice into the wok and fry it until golden brown. Method#3: Frying (with added ingredients) Repeat Method#2 except the last line. (you can change the vegetable oil with margarine to have different flavor) you can stir fry other ingredients like chopped-up hot dogs, green peas, carrots, bell pepper, sliced onions, bacon tidbits, sliced chorizo hot dog, salami. spring onions. (Though its better that you have but it does not mean you need all of these at the same time; but whatever is there, it will do. Its up to your taste anyway) Add the mashed rice into the wok and fry it until golden brown. Add one egg or two (beaten) to the fried rice mixture, mix it and stir-fry some more until its golden yellow in color. Its now a complete meal in itself

Thank you so much for the video:)! You didn't talk about black rice?! Haitians eat white rice everyday, we avoid brown rice like the plague. I'm Haitian I grew up eating white rice everyday, we eat it with beans (red beans, black beans, lima beans, white beans, peas, lima beans on different days) and there were centenarians and old people around me. Never missed a day of school, perfect attendance, never sick, when we moved to the US and continued on our Haitian diet, doctors always amazed by our blood work and would always ask my mom what did she feed us. American fake processed food is the real culprit I believe, not rice. My Haitian grandmother is 89, eats white rice every single day of her life, had 12 children, no morning sickness. Hard for me to buy into this white rice is bad phenomenon, even though I don't eat it as much as I used to when I was growing up and my mom did all the cooking, maybe fake food is the real culprit.

Sprout the rice yourself using an "Easy Sprout" ($13. Amazon). Super easy...takes about 2 days. Don't let it sprout too long or it will taste bitter. Sprouting removes SOME of the phytic acid. Rinse the sprouted rice well and cook it with some coconut oil and salt. Then put it into the fridge for at least 12 hours. The refrigeration changes the molecular structure of the rice to become a resistant starch which cuts carbs, sugar and calories in half. Also, resistant starch feeds the good bacteria in your GUT.

My friends who eat organic grass fed meat and gluten are very unhealthy at 70-80 years old. So your logic and science is FALSE. I say that as a diabetic who can't even eat rice. But the Japanese and Chinese live longer than y'all.
@AlexKinPongLo9 жыл бұрын
+Vette gaddia This is because the American food is all high in meat or protein, as well as the fast junk food. The main protein sources of Japanese and Chinese are the beans and tofu made by beans, or from the fruits. Actually, humans do not need too much protein, only 200g a day. Some kind of vegetables and fruits are high in protein which mean don't need many meats. As protein induces radicals and radicals cause ageing and cancer. Other than health problem, cows cause global warming and desertification, as cow consumes huge among of grass and their farts contain CO2. So westerners should go raw and raw diet. If not all, the method of American lifestyle is not sustainable for the global development. American lifestyle means the over consuming, materialistic life, sex and cash. Two ways: 1. depopulation and new world order, many people suffer from terrorism and war planned by USA. 2. Go green, people eat healthier with better lifestyles, no fossil fuel but free energy.

'Kanji' more precisely 'ganji' is originally a South Indian word. Ganji is a poor man's food. Just leftover cooked rice soaked in water overnight and had early morning with random side dishes. Ganji has nothing to do with China or Ancient Chinese medicine. I know the concept is adopted by other neighboring countries but just getting sick of westerners taking so many things/concepts that come from India and wrongly attributing them to China or Japan or whatever.

Ganji is the water taken from the boiling or boiled rice . Left over rice soaked with water or curd in the previous night is called chaddi annam which is very good for our body ,it reduces heat from our body and makes us energetic all the day

Why are you ignoring the Time Magazine big warning about ARSenic in certain rices?? And especially the findings that brown rice is the most dangerous because it holds the most Arsenic?
@blondwiththewind7 жыл бұрын
I agree, Carol. I came to this video specifically because I wanted an update on the arsenic risk of eating rice. Odd that it wasn't even mentioned.

I think white rice is better than brown rice. I used to eat brown rice but have switched over. The reason being is because of the help in bacterial growth in the gut. Which we all know now that gut bacteria is a HUGE issue. I guess the biggest continent in the world knew that all along.
