A 2023 study comparing bimatoprost 0.01% and 0.03% to 2% minoxidil gel showed marked response to all with no statistically significant differences between the three. I've used minoxidil off and on the outer ~40% of my left surgery-damaged eyebrow for over a decade, and have seen a marked benefit. I put a drop or two on the head of a q-tip to ensure it's loaded with enough to deposit on my skin, but not so much that it drips. If I get too much I just start over with another q-tip. Then I place the q-tip just to the side of the fuller area of the brow and drag it across the damaged area to almost its natural edge, leaving a very thin, light amount of product on the skin. It took quite a while to begin seeing results, but they're real and have been sustained with every-other-day dosing. There have been several times I've missed 3-4 days entirely with no apparent loss. There has been no unexpected change in the vision in my left eye per my eye exams save for slight, normal age-related changes that have occurred within the last 2 years (8 years after starting).

Some people are careless, so obviously it cannot be recommended on a mass scale. Taking a eyebrow brush dipping in the minoxidil and brushing the eyebrows will leave no drip or spreading

I've been using Rogaine few times a week recommended by a dermatologist for about 10 years and I also use Latisse myself. As an optometrist and a lash artist, I often make the recommendations to take breaks from lash extensions then Rx Latisse to the clients to apply on the lash line and any residue to apply to the brows.

This is such a rabbit hole! I've seen credible doctors recommend it on youtube (Dr Gary and Dr youn) and doctors not recommend it (you and Dr shay). It quite hard to make a decision as it's based on potential irritation and the price tag of brow serums are SO expensive. After your vid I think I'll try the natural options and see how we float, of it doesn't work I guess I'll get the latisse because my vision is not something o want to mess with. However, I've also read many people having lost their vision after using latisse and having massive irritation, I guess it's all right if you just use it on the eyebrow and not the eyelid?

Using minoxidil on the eyebrows isn't going into the eye though. It shouldn't be so wet , that it's dripping. Not that I recommend it. Even when I'm using it on my scalp, I don't saturate the area, I just wet the scalp slightly

Let me ask a question. So if I use LAtisse and stop after say 6 months of consistent use, will all my lash/brow gains go down the toilet after a certain amount of time passes? The same way Minoxidil does? Also why not just use alcohol-free minoxidil formulations?

Do you have any specific products that you feel confident & comfortable recommending for growing and/or thickening eyebrow hairs? My eyebrows are really stubborn. My brows are already thick but for a long time I’ve really been wanting to enhance the way my left brow looks so my face looks more symmetrical without makeup. _(Right brow is fuller than the left, left brow is the ugly sister)_ Using a brow brush and clear brow gel just makes my brows less unruly and temporarily helps shape them to an extent without tweezing/removing other brow hair. **Reason I’m very lost:** I use *leave-in lash conditioners* _(Maybelline’s Lash Sensational in the AM, GrandeCosmetic’s Grande-Repair in the PM)_ in order to: •nourish the lash hairs •soften their hair texture •make them naturally glossier over time •replace hydration/prevent hair dryness •slow the rate of lash fallout so they appear fuller •strengthen my lashes so they’re less prone to breakage •get the general benefits of topically applied biotin, nourishing oils, panthenol, vitamin e & biotinoyl tripeptide-1 for lash hairdo *(My brows DO NOT seem to respond to this treatment remotely as much as my lashes do.)* I don’t have extension but I still use *eyelid/lash cleanser wipes* to; •prevent lash mites •reduce risk of ever developing blepharitis •reduce risk of developing dry eye symptoms •thoroughly remove daily buildup of filth, dead skin cells, residues, air-pollution & pollen- that otherwise can cause lid irritation &/or negatively impact lash health+resillience *(Neither regular facewash nor my eyelid cleanser seem to have ANY benefits for my brows)* I also use *prostaglandin-analogue* based lash serums _(Evening only, some days I use Careprost serum to make my more expensive GrandeLash serum last longer)_ and have seen very good results without any of the known adverse effects. It makes my lashes: •look healthier by appearing denser/thicker •lovelier due to growing substantially longer *(As much as I wanted it to work, i used my careprost lash serum on my left brow for months and it seems to have NO benefits for my brows)* I heard brow serums exist but are the ingredients actually more effective for brows than the regular lash serums it’s so hard to know because a lot of them have similar ingredient to lash serums. Props to you & thanks in advance if you actually read this entire comment lmao

It can be so hard to find something that works great. Latisse has been FDA approved for eyelashes, not eyebrows, but it has the potential to work well with eyebrows as well. Additionally, I will link a video to my top 4 natural lash serums here:kzbin.info/www/bejne/b5bLo4qjpd2EkLM Also, try to remember: eyebrows are sisters - not twins! :)

Been going well, once a day is enough. Small hairs are growing on tops of brows and below. Combining this with a thin pencil adding slight darkening in the middle has helped (only applied when going out). And lastly, very slowly reshape your brows by plucking to whatever is most attractive shape and curve on you, but be extremely careful. Follow the plucking rules.
