Nice run to clear her out. 80mph not too bad for an old single. Would the 535 Continental GT have the same performance albeit with a better gearbox?
@yardenl19982 ай бұрын
The GT535 has a top speed of 87mph. 140kmph but you'll be losing bolts and wrecking it by riding so hard. As an owner of one I would say it max out at 128kmph. But I never pushed mine so hard.
@martinowl2 ай бұрын
A few years ago, I was cruising along at 70ish, & a handful of larger sports bikes flew past me, a GT535 was the last of the line, it didn’t look a pleasant experience for the rider as it struggled by.

There's more in there. It sounds quite flat at the top-end, seemed to struggle to make it up to the redline. I've got a hot 612 engine in my IB bullet and it revs WAY up compared to a standard one. It'll romp up the revs until the valves float if you let it. You've mentioned before it's had a tune but I wonder if it's got the performance cams in there or if it's on standard ones?
@Volcanicbrown18782 ай бұрын
@twostroke350 No, it's just stage 1 tuned with standard cams. At 5000rpm the torque is falling off fast and running out of breath.Taller gearing (19T gearbox sprocket) doesn't do it any favours! It's the AVL engine, known as the lean burn. not my favorite engine by any means!

Fast enough ! Even if you were 5’7” I doubt that you would have got much beyond 90 mph. I went for a quick ride today with my brother, he was on his 1960’s 250 Continental GT with clip-ons, unsurprisingly it looks so much like your bike, or rather yours looks like his ! I was clocking his speed on my bike, when we arrived at our destination I told him he had done a ton, well in kilometres! That’s the thing with the metric system, all very logical, but somehow lacking in humanity. One hundred miles per hour ! A pint of beer ! Six foot ! Maybe you’d prefer to be 2 metres rather than 6’7” or maybe not !

My mates son is 63kg & put 2-1 Exhaust on HIS Gt 650 & blew by me & I was going 163kmh & HE had a Gopro running & HE gapped me & did 188kg😲.Gt 650 is 4kg lighter & 2-1 system is 13.5kg lighter than stock set up as my bike was only 6kg lighter than stock.HE said he'd been 190kmh the 2-1 system had heaps of mid to top end power.Also I'm 25kg heavier.Gt 650 209kg wet stock minus 13kg =196kg with 2-1.
