I have noticed how Ryobi is pushing more and more into every day life items not just “power tools”. Lets take a look at these items and also look at how many of these are great items to use in the event of an emergency where the power goes out.

I love Ryobi because they aren't scared of coming out with strange products that other tool manufacturers wont, their fans, lights, vacuums are great

Hi Justin! I'm also from Puerto Rico and agree 100% with your remarks about Ryobi tools! Ryobi was a lifesaver during the six months we were without power here on the Island! The first days were a nightmare, no power, and a lot of destruction! What helped me was I had Ryobi tools and batteries. The second day the Home Depot opened up and I was able to buy these led lights that came on a electrical cord so I was able to light up my living room, kitchen and dining room. Also got small lights for the bedrooms and bathrooms. Since then I've bought a ton of more Ryobi tools and just finished my kitchen! Super grateful to Ryobi! By the way I just subscribed to your channel!

Oh cool Luis and so sorry you were out for 6mo! I actually just picked up the Milwaukee battery power generator and testing that out now (video next week I think) ryobi has a version too, I think it’s a solid emergency option if you have a solar panel to recharge the batteries daily

I have several Ryobi tools mainly because when my daughter played travel softball we had a couple of their fan with the large batteries. My dills, impact driver, orbital sanders are Ryobi and have done well for many years and thousands of hours. I have several batteries and a six bay battery charger. Very durable I am not to easy on tools and Ryobi is still going strong.

I had a bad opinion of Ryobi when I was in my 20s and a contractor friend called my Ryobi drill driver set tinker tools, but in the past few years, I really come to see that while not all of their tools are fabulous, they do make some very good stuff, that’s affordable for the normal person and especially with all of these extra lifestyle type of tools it’s definitely a tool brand not to discount. And in some cases, their tools are the best like their Brad Naylor, and right angle drill are rated the top out of any brand out there.

Try out the portable electric cooler. Best tool ever, I cut grass for a living in Texas and it saves me from ever having to get ice. It goes down to -4 degrees Fahrenheit, works on 12v, batteries, or wall plug.

I actually have one (not ryobi) in my work trailers I run off solar, they are fantastic! I run it direct with the 12v adapter and keeps our lunch and drinks cold all day! Thanks for the recommendation! Have you seen Makita‘s air conditioned jacket, it’s primarily made for contractors who have to go into an ultra hot attic but I’ve always thought it would be awesome for somebody working outside all day

NOTE - That Direct Tool Outlet site IS a factory direct outlet. The stores and site are owned and ran by TTI, the company that owns Ryobi, Ridgid, Milwaukee, and Hart tools). They have a exclusive contract to sell with Home Depot so Direct Tool Outlet is the only other "official" place to get Ryobi.

I standardized on the Ridgid platform, but a lot of those Ryobi tools look interesting. I also just got a 3-D printer, and was happy to find out I can print an adapter that will let my Ridgid batteries work with Ryobi tools.

Oh very cool, does that adaptor have 3 prongs or 2? If two it’s transmitting only positive and negative power and not data (3rd metal prong) make sure not to kill the battery all the way (the data keeps the battery from overheating or fully depleting, when your battery dies on the tool there is actually 5-10% left in it. If it fully dies it can brick it never to charge again, adaptors are great just make sure you know that so you don’t hurt your battery!

As a home handyman and DIYer I have had Ryobi power tools for years. Being in Australia we get 6 years warranty on the tools if registered on-line. I just replaced the stick-vac that I have had for just over 3 years and it was a walk in to our big box store for an immediate swap over. My wife has started using it for the house in preference to her Dyson. I agree with you on the brad nailer and also the hot melt glue gun. My only issue with TTI is that they do not have the same range in all countries. I have had to get a couple of tools shipped from the US as they have not been released here.

I use the fans and lights everyday. They work so good that I have bought multiples of each so when they finally break I'll have another ready to go.

I use mostly makita 18v & bosch corded/18v with 3 sizes of ridgid nail guns as their clean drive line is amazing + a couple m12; however, over the last few years have accumulated several ryobi tools when the value is right on a tool I may not use daily. Personally, my favorite has been the 1/2” file belt sander that I got couple years back for like $50. thing is an absolute beast and so so handy so now it gets used almost daily. their hp 3” cut off tool is amazing quality, and I was impressed by their cordless planer as well. Since I got those, they have been innovating like crazy in the hobby and lifestyle spaces, so my wife and I have gotten several usb lithium entries and that infamous hot glue gun of theirs. I think ryobi hate is mostly just spillover from a different time when the tools were cheap and underwhelming.

Yea I would agree, I think they have upped their game in the past few years and some of their items are great (some not) but it has found its place as my cheaper brand I buy one off items from and now their life style stuff has been great

I'm a former Ryobi hater and "why don't you get a MAN'S tool?" was a common expression of mine. What slowly changed my mind wasn't the performance, but rather the utility When I want heavy duty performance I still use my Milwaukee tools. But Ryobi have so many unique and useful tools that actually make me go "hey, that's pretty neat!" Their lifestyle oriented devices along with their USB Lithium line of mini tools have been making their way into my home and have changed my perception of the brand Now my garage is split in half with my Milwaukee tools on one side and my Ryobi tools on the other side 👍🏽

Yea honestly the same I usually recommend to people doing the split you do where you have a pro line that’s more expensive for your most used tools and a cheaper brand for the one offs and for the fun accessories

Great video Justin. There’s a couple of things I’m going to look into for sure. Direct Tools have great deals on tools I bought a Ridgid belt and oscillating, sander and miter saw from them reconditioned for less than half price of what they would have been new. Thanks for sharing.

I’ve been using Ryobi tools for years. They are reliable, functional and economical for a home owner but most important Ryobi has lived up to their commitment that any Ryobi battery will work with any Ryobi tool (correct voltage permitted). No worry that if a tool finally dies, or if I decide to upgrade a specific tool, batteries I already have will work with any Ryobi tool. And thanks for pronouncing Ryobi correctly. Videos from the manufacturer ALWAYS pronounce it ‘REE-O-Be’.

Long before Ryobi's glue gun, Surebonder made one that runs on a Ryobi battery. To add: Makita's microwave and coffee maker are 40v

There’s a guy in bernardsville that mills his own stuff at his house, mainly big slabs but he has a not so good pile he sells 1.5in thick by 5ftx2ft slabs of misc hardwoods for $25 I like to grab those and then break them down into dimensional for whatever I need he posts on Facebook marketplace regularly

TY for this video. Made me realize I can get rid of my eco flow things I just bought from costco since I have several ryobi batteries and devices. This made me realize a video idea. Can you do a video showing the xtool f1 being run off the ryobi setup? All the needed devices to run an f1 out of the workshop and on location type of video? With the f1 and ryobi ecosystem of course. Even if it is just a talking head no demonstration.

Oh cool that is a great idea! I had been thinking about doing a video where I literally go to a craft show, show the entire portable set up in the process of what I need to do, etc. I was going to use something like a jack, but you’re totally right one of these systems would be a great option too!

There’s actually a button on their website on the left that says if it’s in store only or can ship, I found a good number of sales that are on the ship option so that’s how I bought it through there

I have so many Ryobi tools- I may have a problem. That being said- that Ryobi power inverter- even with six large batteries- is (probably) not going to be able be able to keep your refrigerator running or run your portable AC unit. It *would* be fantastic for your personal electronics, lights, and keep your internet and router running. It will also run your CPAP flawlessly. The limit isn't how much power you can put in it, but how much it can deliver at peak.

@@BitnerBuilt It will be some useful content. The reports back from the forum members are that it's perfect for anything you may want to use while camping, but the high initial draw will cause it to throw an error. The Milwaukee version has a different market (construction professionals on a job site as opposed to DIYers) and It makes sense that their power center will run their power tools. I was really considering getting the Ryobi power center but then I looked at how much they wanted for it, which was about 700 bucks *without* batteries. If you want it to perform like we would all expect it to perform, you will need to put six 6AH batteries in it. By the time you add all that up You're getting close to almost $2,000. You can get a power center from jackery or ecoflow for less than that, that will have more power on board. Really though, I see the Ryobi power center as a device that will give you more utility out of the batteries you already own. And if it were 300 bucks I'd buy one in a heartbeat. But $699 for a power center that doesn't come with any power on board just didn't make sense in my particular case. Your mileage may vary! :)

Ridgid came out with a dual temp glue gun last year. A little more expensive than the Ryobi.

@@BitnerBuilt Not sure if you knew, but Ryobi actually has two glue guns, a single temp and a dual temp. I bought the dual temp one before I knew Ridgid was planning to release one.

Ridgid makes a glue gun that's nicer than the Ryobi one! And Ryobi makes a dual temp one now as well. Really like not having to deal with cords for those things.
