My husband ran some numbers for last year. The items we sold for less than $9 more than paid our mortgage for the entire year. I wish everything we sold was $100, but that's not what we find. We'll find a hundred $10 items before we find one $100 item. Cheap items pay the bills for us.

Are you anywhere Knoxville? My family and I are wanting to move to East Tennessee area, somewhere surrounding the Knoxville area but in the county areas and we are all working on that as we speak, selling stuff here at the house, etc. Not sure how long its going to take but working on it. I think its good to have a mix of things & costs, keeps things interesting. You are right about those smalls add up quick, nothing wrong there! Keep up the great work!

Great video! Last month I got 12 pounds of Barbie toys, dolls and accessories. Parted it all out. My average was $1.24 per item. I sold one Barbie doll coat for $5.00 + shipping on Mercari. Not a lot of profit but it was the lowest selling item of all the Barbie listings. It all adds up so I think the small sells are worth the time. Thank you for all you do!

I agree with selling what you can find. High value items aren't super common here, and while I do love finding those gems, the items that may only net me $10 each are my bread and butter.

One nice thing about flipping cheap stuff is you can source without much risk if you aren't super knowledgeable in a certain area. A "bad buy" hurts a lot less at $2 than $20.

Awesome deals! Sometimes the cheap stuff is the best stuff. I like looking at the estate sales that let you fill up a box for cheap and pay one low price. It takes pennies to make dollars. That shark was my favorite item sold. Keep an eye out for vintage yo-yo’s especially the ones that have Scooby Doo and ET on them.

I actually bought some yo-yo's today! Thanks for the tip!

Brother, I truly appreciate each and every one of your videos, they give me the inspiration to keep going as a reseller. I have coined the phrase above the below and below the above for pricing. I am working on building more inventory and growing my sales. I hope to be putting out videos before long on KZbin. Keep up the amazing work you do and have an amazing day.

nailed it, my friend. smalls are easy all around, the ROI can be fantastic, they don't tend to have issues with returns, and they truly do add up because I think they push store activity.

Great video and we appreciate your honesty. Selling cheaper items isnt worth your time, unless thats all you can do for income. When people message you to lower the cost on a pair of $5 sunglasses with free shipping, you get frustrated lol. Not worth the hassle.

Sell What You Find T Shirt!! Sounds like a Merch Idea down the road.😻 I like to sell items for at least 10.00 $ or more , but if I buy them for 1.00 or less sometimes I sell them cheaper, especially if I take offers. Absolutely I will pick something up for $.50 or $1 to sell it for $10. It could be small toys, dvds or vhs. 2 of those will ship as media mail so they’ll go out less than $4 shipping. As long as it’s small I’ll buy it. It doesn’t take up much space. The way I look at it, I still might get some good feedback and my sales keep going in my store.
@oldschoolpicker2 жыл бұрын

I find a average $21 sale and personally my main resell shop has 34 morning resellers we are like a small family and give tips to each other. Some like clothes and some like hard goods and some like glassware, and some like toys so I never worry about competition. I just enjoy reselling and my overhead is low and I'm retired

Like you said, your buys are gonna be dictated by the local market and what is available to buy. If its 50 cent and $1 items that you can sell for $10-$15, who can argue that its not worth it? Thats a big ROI, even after fees. If its working for you, it aint wrong. Keep it up, theres a lot of sellers just like you. (and dude, you need to get that breaker box finished...I cringe every time I see that )
@oldschoolpicker2 жыл бұрын
Thanks John, main reason breaker box is not finished is because of all the rain we have gotten over last month. Also my brother in law (my electrician) has had a grandbaby born, another daughter getting married, and the death of his mother all in the span of a month and I just hadn't wanted to bother him with it. But I will get it soon!
