Sikh religion would not have survived if it wasn't for the Hindu Marathas. The Sikhs went downhill after the death of Guru Gobind Singh and were saved by the Peshwas. Without the Marathas their would have been no Maharaja Ranjit Singh and all of Punjab would have been Muslim.

Few months back I needed some changes in my OCI card so I went BLS in Brampton. Generally people line up early (around 4 in morning) so they will get appointment early, so I was there early. Few Sikh people (wearing turban) came fired shots at the windows of BLS office, completely vandalised and broke all windows. I was shaken when that happened infront me (still have photos and video I took), but I was even in more shock when no news channel actually reported that. Just imagine shot being fired at Canadian immigration office in India, it would be international news. I am not exaggerating when I am saying more 90% of cases against Khalistani do not even gets reported in Canada.

To Canadians asking why this is happening to their country? The Indian government has been trying to warn their Canadian counterparts if this for a long time and kept getting ignored. It's been so bad that in recent times the Indian foreign minister has had to openly give statements against Canadian policies to the media. The minister has talked about immigration scams, stating people with criminal charges against them, with Interpol red corner notices against them are being given Canadian citizenship in extreme cases like that of Pannu. None of the Canadian media covers this, instead Canadian government has labelled India as one of the countries trying to interfere with Canadian democracy.

Great podcast. I agree everything about what you guys said with regards to Khalistan. As an Indian immigrant who came in the early 2000s through the right methods and now seeing how the immigration system has literally crumbled under the Liberal leadership this last decade, it's so disheartening to see my beautiful country turned to a playground for crimes. The kindness of Canadians being taken advantage off by bad actors to fast track their way of getting PR. These "international students/work permits" protests always crack me up. You came here to study and now that your visa is expiring - you are demanding the gov't to let you stay and give you PR. They come under the guise of "International student" but study at some no name school where nobody goes and I honestly feel these ppl are much older than your regular student. I really hope they are all sent back and if they want to come as a PR, that they apply through the regular process and are properly vetted. I don't want Canada to become a breeding ground for such activities. Coming to Canada and leading a separatist movement is so fucked. Khalistan is a terrorist group

Kushal, I don’t know if you read the comments, but if you do can you comment (or better, make a video) about what the effects of the more recent Indian (i.e. more Hindu) immigration into Canada will be - especially politically? We know that historically there has been a greater Punjabi Sikh immigration into Canada, but with the recent changes (immigration from India has tripled or quadrupled in recent years - and going by basic demographics, there will inevitably be more Hindus moving than Sikhs), can we expect the Canadian parties to 'pander' more to the broader Indian/Hindu population. Note: I am against political pandering in general, but in this case my interest is in representation/looking after our interests like they do with muslims and hardline sikhs. Many thanks.

I am a hindu who came to canada in 1980 as a student to do my . At that time all i knew was to work and earn money, Whereas sikhs at that time was fighting for right to indians that helped me too. For eg. sponsoring familes, practising my religion, having indian restaurants, basically being indian in Canada. But for them I would have to become a canadian like eating meat, going to church, having christian names etc. I dont balme them for becoming jealous and threatened now that hindus are becoming majority and outseating them econmically. Remember what canadains prime minister wrote in his diary. if you let indians in, they will drown you jus tby sheer numbers. That is happening now. if Canada wants to benfit from India then they have to learn to somehow comfort sikhs that hindus will not be a threat to them and sikhs will always have more say over hindus.

Till the 15th century when sikhism was formed, sikhs were hindus. A portion of hindus fought against the muslims and bore the burnt of the loss. The remaining section of the hindus benefitted. So the section of the hindus that lsot more decided to form a separate group and called themselves sikhs. Throughout history sikhs bore the burnt from the foreigners and hindus overly benefitted compared to hindus. In Canada it was the sikhs that fought against the whites to seetle in Canada but now hindus are benefitting more than the sikhs. Indira gandhi supported sikhs and made them beleive that they willl be protected against hindus. But hindus were outgrowing sikhs in punjab that threatened sikhs. So sikhs had to kill hindus and be violent against hindus. When Indira tried to stop the violence, sikhs that indira had turned against them in support of hindus. This made her a traitor and so got killed.
