I think men are more forgiving of autism in women than women are of dating an autistic man. Likely because women with autism are better at masking and men are quite visual so if she's autistic they will look past the social shortcomings

I think that might be due to the fact that women are naturally more clingy, affectionate and like to be close while people on the spectrum really appreciate their independence and naturally express the same things differently while men are ok with being naturally more distant. I don`t know if I worded this correctly but that was my initial thought.

I don’t know which part I liked the most…Romeo’s rogue too-soon stranger scoop, ripping off false eyelashes to then burn at the table candle or leave in the water glass for the restaurant staff to deal with , orally assaulting the check presenter that is likely teeming with germs, or the shameless flex and pec reveal. Then her calling it really weird when she contributed to half of the weirdness. You can be a little goofy on a date but this was just…unusual and bad mannered.

Yeah, I think both of them did weird things. It wasn’t only him she was part of it. Either she was doing those crazing things to feel connected to him or she’s just like him. So if she was faking her crazy stuff then she isn’t comfortable with herself. Also, I notice he is a very deep thinker and in touch with his emotions and others. I thought sharing the fact that she was diagnosed with autism (On the first date) this was not necessary as it was not evident in any shape or form at that stage, coupled with her licking the menu and then pulling off her lashes, were all signs that she was not going to take this relationship any further, I am convinced that if she was smitten with her date, these behaviours would not have materialised. She is a bit too goofy and at times talks too much without listening to her partner.

This was one of the oddest First Dates I've ever watched! They're both oddballs in their own way. He is way too cocky - his picking her up right upon meeting was bizarre. I have to admit that I was entertained, and maybe that's all First Dates is about. I thought that she was warming up to him and was actually going to say Yes to a second date. (He obviously was into her.) But I was caught off guard when she just wanted to be "friends" - a smart choice by her but I thought that seeing all his big muscles was clouding her good judgement.

I do find it a little odd that she didn't want another date. However, I'm autistic, and I know how difficult/uncomfortable dating is with a neuro-divergence. If I like a guy, the idea of having to see him/impress him a second time causes me so much anxiety, I just can't do it.
