Ground mount those panel. Stay off the roof. 😊 Easier to troubleshoot, upgrade, clean (for those snow/ice people), no holes in the metal roof. Also panels on roof need an additional rapid shutdown in most states, not sure if it applies in your area. That’s an additional cost for each panel as they each need a module. Plus some additional items to connect to the inverter to support the rapid shutdown.

Appreciate the advice, I did design it with a roof mount in mind. Not sure I can ground mount 40 panels.

A few points: That Inverter can only do 50 Amps. It has a 200 Amp pass-through if you are connected to the grid. The peak power is not 18,000W, that is the solar input (PV). Peak Power (W) With PV: 14.7kW (10 min), 15.5kW (5 min) Without PV: 13.5kW (10 min).

Yes, thanks for that. I may need to clarify this. As you can see I am still learning 😩

I’m curious what the panel output looks like during a sunny winter day vs sunny summer day.

I thought you have 4 of those EG4 batteries? What happened to the forth one? If you are using the forth one, you will need a busbar. I would suggest Victron power in or Victron distribution.

No 3 only. Once you add the fourth it changes the setup a bit, and adds some additional items. Thanks. Jim

Depending on what state you're in you should look into what past in the degree New deal there is quite a bit of money for high efficiency appliances depending on what tax bracket you're in you can get most of it paid for look into heat pump dryer and hot water tank that's also can help with humidity and your house something to look into to keep you were power loads down also look into induction cook tops

Yea, just doing our taxes and yea I did get some tax credits. Essentially was a write-off. It did make a difference though... thx.

What type of solar mount array are you going to use

So we purchased these short metal mounts directly from Signature Solar. They screw directly into the metal roof at each corner and have a mounting clamp that clamps all 4 corners of the panels. Do not really like to screw directly into the roof, but if it was a standing seem I would not have to do that. Have not used them yet, will do this spring... thx.

Sure solar is worth it, but not with a low surge capacity, high frequency, transformerless inverter.

Yea, we had to… not sure if you watched a previous video, but just to run the utility poles and lines it was going to cost us 25k alone. So this was a better choice.

Stagnant air starts to stink, that is something people forget and was a lesson taught long ago. Natural gas furnace is by far the best thing ever invented in this area of expertise. It is over 95% efficient and is the cheapest of them all while being the least costly to replace if needed to be. Relying on electricity in any amount is failure at the highest level, cause when it is off you literally are just sitting there waiting to die until it either turns back on or you are dead. Natural gas will flow for thousands more years without any worry, the boogy man under the bed isnt real.

@@EternallyGod Shipped all over the world daily, until someone decides to turn it off! Lulz 🤡 Just look at Gaza for an immediate example. You are acting like this guy is some Just Stop Oil nutter going solar to save the world from climate change. When it is as simple as he purchased everything he needed to power his residence for at or under what the Grid Power Monopoly wanted to charge him just to have access to the grid.
