I have the A7Cii + 20-70 F4, iPhone 15 Pro and Pocket 3 as my travel kit. If had to do it again, I agree with you. I should have gotten the 6700.
@SilatShooter3 ай бұрын
Don't disagree with your assessment. The 6700 is a terrific camera, and the lenses are cheaper and smaller for APS-C. The low light advantage of FF is the one primary tipping point for me. It's not much, definitely the gap has decreased and you may prove me wrong when you compare the two.
@marchonore3 ай бұрын
It is really not honest to claim that the A6700 is smaller - only by a couple of millimeters in each direction, and only 20 grams lighter.
@TomsJurjaks3 ай бұрын
You are right. Just made a video comparing the two and they are almost identical, but the meaning was that the “setup is smaller” (apsc lenses are usually lot more compact). I should have been more specific about that, thanks for pointing out!
@danielthomas77478 күн бұрын
Weird - anyway I respect your thought - but, consider: - ISO - Death of field - I mage quality - Crop sensor 1.5 downgrade for wide angle - Sensor protection when removing the lens on the A7Cll Both camera are on steroids having the same autofocus AI. For those who search flexibility together with performance and image quality then the A7Cll is a better choice. For those who search more reach with the crop factor 1.5 for wildlife photography or sport then the A6700 is a better choice! In the end camera features are connected to a need!

I just got an A7C Mark one off facebook marketplace for only $1000. I am a full hobbyist rn and still in college, but i was looking at a7iv and a7cii and realized i really didnt need all that stuff and just wanted a small and powerful camera that does photo and video, i upgraded from a Nikon D3400, so absolutely huge upgrade for me. I really only share my stuff to social media and friends and family, so I think that if u are like me, you can def get the first a7c and be super happy with it, plus it was much over $1000 cheaper than an a7iv and a7cii. I looked at the a7iii but i really wanted a flippy screen 😂😂.

I have the A6700 with Sigma 56, Sony 16-55 and Sony Fe20mm 1.8. I too thought about moving up to the A7Cr but the price stopped me. I ended up getting a GR3 as an everyday carry and couldn't be happier. They are both great cameras.

I have the A7IV and a6700. As much as I'd like to get the A7Cii I don't know if I really have a need. The A7IV isn't huge and I personally prefer the bigger grip. If I had the extra cash then maybe but it just doesn't fit my needs right now.

@Princeton_JamesАй бұрын
@@a55tech here I am 2 mos later. I did get the A7CR. i love it. If you want FF I'd choose that over the IV, if you want the best APSC available today, go with the 6700. The 6700 grip is much better.

I am using A6700 with Viltrox 27mm, Sigma 56mm and Sigma 18-50mm. Been trying to convince myself to upgrade to A7cii for the 33mp and perhaps slightly better low light but I still could not justify the price differences of the body and lenses. I am not a doing this as a professional and mainly shoot family, life, travel, landscape and occasionally night sky.... Looking forward to your comparison video.
@masterchaos86714 ай бұрын
Why are you even looking for FF, is there something you are missing out on A6700 in general which is absolutely necessary or is it just the obsession of FF, no offence 😅 kinda in same dilemma
@rsat95264 ай бұрын
@@masterchaos8671 I know right?…. To me, the only real benefits are 33mp and slightly better low light. That’s all. When it comes to dynamic range I believe it does not really matter as the most demanding scene I do is probably going to need 8-10 stops which the a6700 can easily cover for. What I would lose going A7cii is the 60fps no crop and money for more expensive lenses. These are why I hesitate.

I have A74. Sold my A7iii last week. Also have Nikon Zf. Love all my cams. But still end up with days without carrying a cam, especially if it’s a hike. So if u are not shooting professionally don’t make a move to full frame. You will end up leaving it behind compared to if you have smaller cams.

exactly my issue. A6000 A6300 A6600 I am no pro barely a hobbyist but I felt like I always had those with me. Talked myself info full frame and got the A7C1 and that was not a bad transition. The issue is glass got the nifty fifty and the Sigma 24-70 f2.8 (FYI this is a big carry) Then talked myself into taking it more seriously and went to A7IV and I love it but I don't use it. Combined with the 24 to 70 its just to cumbersome to just pick up and go and have on me just in case. So I've started using my 15 pro max a ton and now I play with the idea of keeping the A7IV and getting like a 6700 or zv10ii to just throw in bag car and run around with. Forget rid of the A7IV and 24-70 and get the A7CII and get small primes.
@zakiradi4502 ай бұрын
@@pdotc get the a6700 with sigma 18-50 Issue with iPhone photos is they look crap when I blow them up on my oled. And I watch almost everything on big screen. Maybe if we shoot raw on iPhone then we can turn down the sharpness and it won’t look that bad. But still no substitute for a proper camera.

A7iv if you have paid jobs, handle good in video too than a7cii
@maruwaanmoses4 ай бұрын
I have both and can confirm that the A74 has better image quality. Dynamic range is better, low light is better and moire performance night and day difference . Most KZbinrs did not mention this when reviewing the camera. But take it from a fellow user, there is a clear difference. Having said that, I prefer the size and weight of my A7cii so use it more than the A74.
@zakiradi4504 ай бұрын
Pro jobs then A74 of course. But if u are just starting out and don’t have as many Sony lenses the check z6iii. Nikon now has a decent lens line up and tamron also open for z mount.

You can't go wrong with either option but for my shooting style full frame delivers superior performance with better dynamic range, narrower DOF, less noise and cleaner telephoto action shots requiring high shutter speeds. Take a thousand photos and the advantage becomes clear. Over the past 13 years I've owned 5 crop bodies and 5 full frame and I'm sold on ff. Having said that I've had wonderful results with APS-C too.

@TomsJurjaks3 ай бұрын
I didn’t do a scientific test but I had both my A7IV and A7CII on my trip and it “felt” roughly the same. I know its not the answer you are looking for but I never use a full battery in one day. I always have some 30-70% left at the end of the day, and not one single day I ran out of battery so I have never felt that to be an issue

I’m japanese. I really like your photograph, but it’s best to avoid taking portraits, especially in places like trains in Japan. This is because there are many incidents of sexual harassment and unauthorized photography (such as upskirting) here. Even if your intentions are good, you could be misunderstood and accused of being a perpetrator. For your own safety and to avoid any trouble, it’s better not to do so.
