The biggest thing I want to hammer home in this video is that the game is aimed at kids. As adults, we can look past certain things and just "play the game" which to be honest if you buy it then I would expect people to play it because games are expensive and you don't know what's in the game before you play it. Kids are more and more exposed to certain things that should be left to adults to discuss. I don't have to agree with everything in the game to enjoy it but alot of this stuff is just forced and apparently I didn't even scratch the surface of the things I found in the game since this video dropped.

I love this game but you are unfortunately 100% correct. In the first couple hours I played I encountered three gay characters already, and I was like, really? That is just over pushing it. Personally I think everyone is making a big deal about the gun club dialogue way too much to heart and way to seriously. Any superhero that isn’t the punisher or Deadpool would of course not like guns in their city because many people they go against of course use guns. With the Gun Club remark, I think he said that because of the crime that was going on. He doesn't want to deal with them and so said he wanted less clubs so he didn't have to worry about people trying to steal them. I could be wrong, but that's the way I see it. And aren't there people already against Gun Clubs as it is, Spidy is just one of them. As for the flags, whilst I might not agree with them, I beleave that they do appear around NY as it is, so it wouldn't be surprising to see it in game either. If you're going to bass a game around a city, you would need to suspect the same things as you would see in real life. Have they done too many? Maybe... I really like this game. As a massive spider man fan this game is exactly what I wanted for a long time - great gameplay, a very fun and comic booky story, and it looks really nice (a game doesn’t need incredible graphics to be enjoyable but this game does look nice, especially the lighting and particle effects) now usually I'm against insane woke shit in games but it never got in the way so it could squander my enjoyment of just being spiderman and I feel like when spider man is saying some of these things (like the gun rant he goes on that you mentioned) I think that's just him saying that because he's fighting criminals who are shotting at him but I can definitely see what your saying

I got out of games after PS2, and from what I'm seeing, I'm glad. What many of these writers aren't understanding is that we never went to video games and movies (or any entertainment) to see ourselves. We go to them to ESCAPE reality. That's why we love unrealistic spider bites turning us into jacked, super flexible, web swingers who have super model girlfriends, and Black Cats also seducing us on the side...while still being a nerd. It's an ESCAPE from the politics, the low paying jobs, the arguments, the disrespect; No, here we can see somebody who is unrealistic but still relatable enough that we ENJOY the struggle to become a BETTER PERSON. Anybody who has ever read a Spider-Man comic knows Spider-Man is very witty and has a lot to say about the situation at hand. As a bi person while I appreciate the rep from a game franchise I’m super invested in, they could’ve done it in subtle ways that wouldn’t get them as much backlash. The mural photo side task is fine because it’s a quick thing that fits the theme of the photos tasks but they didn’t necessarily have to have a full side quest about a gay couple. Also I get there are outright pride flags in the game but the one he showed was just a generic rainbow? Not all rainbows are about gay people you know
