I was getting the game blocking error and the crash to the desktop on trying to enter the PU. I ended up using the repair character option on the website. Then, when I got in the game, I launched arena commander, played for a minute and went back to the PU and edited my character, and hit save. Then hit play. Before this, i tried a bunch of stuff, even a fresh install. Wasted a whole Saturday just trying to play before it finally worked. Not sure if the voodoo ritual i performed did anything, but I've been able to play now... albeit with copius amounts of bugs.

If it didn't take large chunks of time out of my day to day life only to fall out of my ship's elevator during a QT jump or to into the center of a planet, or break my legs exiting the hospital elevator after breaking my legs in the hangar elevator. 90% of my issue with this game is elevators.

I've never had leg-issues in hangar elevators, but if I'm not wearing a helmet I lose 7-8% health.. I guess from "crossing vacuum" or something :s Been like that for weeks now, char repair did nothing heh

Honestly 0.6/10 is exactly where I would rate it. I have been able to do exactly nothing. No mining, no salvaging, no bounties, no bunkers, absolutely nothing works. I couldn’t even get into my personal hangar for three days. I’ve played probably 100 hours so far in 4.0 and have nothing to show for it. Top of the line specs on my PC too.

Depending on what you're starting with, if its basic ships without much combat capabilities and you plan to PvE - Stanton's probably the better bet, if you're combat-capable then Pyro is just as good as Stanton, maybe the missions are a tad more lucrative? Im not 100% sure. Piracy is better in Stanton atm IMHO so far, but again, I don't know the full picture... need more time in game (and hoping it works!)

I've enjoyed it so far, concur the more you travel around Pyro, it kinda looks the same. Ok CIG has nailed the Mad Max aesthetic, let's move on with some sci-fi 'ness looks. Also you nailed the server performance issues; I have become pretty good at the required character repair kabuki dance needed to get back in; I like to call playing SC "Operation Enduring Frustration" ... 2 Weeks later, and everything seems to work 'pretty' well. Had almost no issues in the recent days except few visual glitches (npc's standing in T pose). I would give it a solid 6/10 for now.

I'd be hard pressed to get more than an hour or so in at a time, but I'm up 3.5 million, give or take. And that's with a Pisces as my starter ship. Granted, you need to know the workarounds, but making money is easier than ever. That 55k mission used to pay 15k

I am 4M in so far! I only do the port tessler cargo runs because they seem the safest. Bounty and Merc missions are wack atm. Stick to local hauling you'll be better off tbh

I still haven't even hopped into 4.0, was wanting to let the initial bugfest get smoothed over first. I was really looking forward to the wipe and starting over fresh, but seeing the exploits pop back up immediately kinda took the wind out of my sails on it. Waiting to see if we get any word on an additional wipe now once they get some of that fixed.

Is different for each one of us. My game worked fine 80% of the time. I had some crashes, fell into planets and some hangar issues sometimes. But all in all, I am having a good time in the game

actually, lorewise, yes all stations in pyro have been built by the same manufacturer, pyro amalgamated, the ones who also discovered the jump point to pyro. It was a company that had very limited financial resources and was on the brink of bankruptcy, so it makes pretty much sense that they didnt want to pay multiple architects to produce multiple station layouts and they just sticked with the first one they had. They eventually went bankrupt so that's why pyro is now controlled by outlaws

I have a question? How long does everyone think it will be before all of the ships everyone bought over the years (that were never even made) start having newer and better versions start to pop up on the store? And they of course will cost more than you paid for the (still not made or in game) ships you bought, so you will need to somehow refund them or get credit for them and then add even more money to buy the newer versions.. How long until this starts happening? And im 100% certain, people will still defend it..

Inconsistency is the core issue, and the last straw for me was last night. I experienced 5 server errors in an hour, then lost 40 crates of RMC in a non-working freight elevators. Hours of my time wasted.

one of the most outstanding things i noticed in 4.0 is the server performance allowed NPC's to do the things they've been describing for at least the last year. i noticed this primarily twice, once when i realized that a gun fight was not going nearly as in my favor as it had in the past, and the second time, was when me and a buddy of mine watched an NPC get up from a bench (he was sitting on it instead of standing) and walked over to a different NPC and started talking to them. Me and my friend were amazed at the display of work that's now showing and im all here for it. hopefully soon we'll get some new mission types/gameplay loops like passenger transport and refining... im really hopeful for those 2

well on a bunker mission friendly NPC were shooting at me, not deribaratly. Well they shoot at bunker entrance. and don't care or notice if you are friendly or not. if I hit one of them I get time stat 3 ;(

Starting this off by stating I love star citizen, it can be a great game, when its working. But, 4.0 is a serious test of patience and I wont be playing until a couple more updates drop. Non stop problems. Frequent 20 minute load screens, desyncs, clipping through floors, missions not working, and just general problems across the board. Been having QT jumps frequently drop me out repeatedly for no reason. for a single jump somewhere ill have to re spool and jump 4-5 times because it just drops me out of qt randomly. 4.0, while it does add tons of new content, currently its a freaking nightmare.

Just bought it yesterday. Ran into a bug trying to buy it. Ran into a bug trying to download it. And then ran into multiple progression stopping bugs trying to go through the tutorial. (Train not appearing, ship not appearing in asop terminal, etc) I’m still willing to give it a chance, but it’s literally the single buggiest piece of software I’ve ever experienced or heard of in my life.

Though I agree... its in year 13 with years old bugs, 4.0 is no different, and server meshing is not in a good state. I'm in an org at least for now with 126 players and I'm the only one that regularly plays. I got three new players to join SC in the last couple years and none of them play because of the bugs, time sinks, and lack of progression. Seems for us that work past development hell and enjoy what's put forth we're grudgingly ok. For a vast majority of backers and prospective players, I don't know.

4.0 is near unplayable for me right now, I played extensively on 3.23 with a friend but 4.0 is beyond broken. Wait in line for launch, wait in line for landing, take a little longer for landing cuz of settings you changed, oops you're already tresspassing in your own hangar, vehicle gets impounded, pay a fine and wait 15 mins for your vehicle to return. "Fun"

4.0 is a Lot more stable for me. In the live server i could barelly walk in New Babage, and when someone got close to me it would crash the game or freeze for a time, now i can almost have the same performance as out of the planet.

I seriously feel embarrassed when i still read comments from people actually STILL defending store citizen.. All of the ships that these "people?" have spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on that still have never even been created yet, will start to become more and more "less valuable" as time goes by and newer versions will start popping out that will be even better versions that cost more, so they will need to somehow get credit from the ones they have already paid for that were never made, then add even more money to it, to get the latest one, rinse/repeat, and i guarantee you, they will still find a way to defend it.. Its one of the worst cases of delusion and mental illness ive ever seen..

It's worth it if you like cruising around in your very own damn spacecraft. No other game has that feeling. It's as close as you can get to your own spaceship and there is one for everyone I would say I didn't care for SC at all until I found the ships meant for me. Not worth it if you expect a game with working basics you can rely on. Biggest part of the "game" is finding workarounds for bugs. I would say finding workarounds is the actual gameplay of Star Citizen if you want to achieve some kind of progress and not just fly around. And even when just wanting to fly around you need some basic workaround gameplay to make it work somewhat reliably.

Tried Star citizen a few years ago, but bugs and glitches drove me away. Recently downloaded again this year, and it seems that after 2 years gameplay is still buggy and glitchy. I am not confident that an operational program is feasable. Just change the venue to "watching a resteraunt or other store opening, and after 2 years it still is not built...."

I just downloaded it this morning. The elevators still are not working after years and I could not get out of my apartment building. Until they fix the bugs this game is a waste of time and money. I am getting more and more fed up with a great idea being butchered. Instead of giving us new bling like space flights that look more realistic, why not fix what is already broken?
