Likewise. I love the idea of a Han Solo type game. And while I certainly have some gripes about this one I can also see myself getting some fun out of it. But I’m not paying 60, much less 130 for it. Remember when dropping that kind of money got you a physical collectors edition with a statue, a steelbook, an art book, etc.? Now you pay twice the cost of the game just to get some digital content that’s not worth more than 20 extra dollars at most. And I’m probably being generous with that.

It's actually pretty fun. Shooting is meh, stealth is ok, but just the feeling of living in the star wars world is awesome. Not since kotor 2 have we been able to just be in the cities. And they really feel like they live and breathe. Eathsdropping on some people in a bar to get Intel, stealing from one faction to get on the others good side, faction territory, it's all cool

The cities are so dense and populated and really feel like they live and breathe. There's faction territories the Empire's rolling around and harassing people, there's people gambling there's bustling Market places and restaurants and Cantinas, you can get Intel from people or even eavesdrop on people to get Intel, you can just drive around on your speeder in these beautiful environments, it just really the first game in many many years where you can just kind of live in the world. I know I already said that but that's the only way I can explain it really

@@captainfach Yeah that’s usually the approach I take to open world games is immersion. That’s what allowed me to enjoy Cyberpunk at launch day on PS4, despite all the bugs and crashes. As long as I’m interested in the world and getting lost in it, I can find my enjoyment in most cases.

Have it on very good authority that internally, they're in panic mode at Ubisoft. They're praying to their god Baal that they have a huge holiday. Nonetheless, it's projected to break even (not profit) by 2026. The preorders were abysmal and the amount of money wasted on advertising is approaching a quarter of a million dollars.

I gotta say, the game is alright. The world design and the feeling of being in these undrworld cities is amazing. They really feel living and breathing. The factions are cool, and kessel sabacc is really fun. Going around on the speeder on tattooine is something ive always wanted to do. Then go into the cantina and eathsdrop to get intel on a job. Also I do agree with the non-Jedi game, there's enough Jedi games already. (Though at least in Jedi Knight and Jedi Academy you're still allowed to use guns on top of your force powers and saber.)

I was never a fan of Star Wars but I am a fan of Star Wars spin-off projects (like Solo, Rogue One, and pretty much anything that has nothing to do with the Jedi), and I'm enjoying the game a lot. Since being able to explore the universe through Outlaws and having a better understanding of the context and setting, it's only now that I'm able to look at the Jedi through a different lens of appreciation. For me, the setting of the Star Wars universe was far more interesting than the Jedi. Now, having experienced Outlaws and viewing the world through the perspective of the syndicates and street hustles, the idea of the Jedi are friggin incredible. I'm looking forward to rewatching the mainline entries with this newfound appreciation and perspective of the Jedi and the supernatural. TL;DR: I really don't think this game was made for Star Wars fans. Instead, I think the game was geared for people like me who didn't really understand the appeal of Star Wars and as a result of playing Outlaws now have an appreciation for the overall concept of the Jedi and a segue into the mainline entries. Run-on sentences FTW.

@secondopinion89 I know it's cliche to say, but there are a ton of details tha5 make you "feel like spider man", so to speak, lol. You really feel like a scoundrel getting by in the world by the skin of your teeth...between constantly backstabbing the various crime factions for your own best interests, using Nix to cheat in a high stakes card game, or ease dropping on convos in a bar to learn the location of some ancient crashed ship that you can then go find out in the world and salvage....there's alot of detail that comes together really well. Go in knowing the combat is fairly basic and there is way more focus on stealth than combat. Stealth is limited at first, but it opens up later with smoke bombs etc

I picked it up today because I had some Rewards points to cash in. Dropped the price under $50. Having fun so far. I'm not too far in yet but enjoying it. Came across some odd glitches already, but nothing game breaking, yet. If I couldn't reduce the cost, I wouldn't have purchased it. Definitely not worth a $70+tax price tag at the base level.

The problem of the argument of not having digital sales yet...is that is a star wars game. Star wars games rely on the fandom and very little in random buyers. And the star wars fandom buy psysical when they like the product. Those sale numbers are very bad. They were specting way more and probably also proyected way more money for their future plans.

Man this makes me sad. Is it reinventing the wheel? No, but it's a different star wars experience we've never gotten before, and it's got a lot going for it. World design being the top.

I'm 41. I have 3 sons and a daughter, all Star wars fans. My oldest boys are 19 and 22. They want shiny pants sexy girls. They say the character sux and is boring. Honestly I'm tired of the Star wars female protagonist myself. I will no longer buy anything Disney related anymore. I walked out of Romulus, too. Got my money back. It's like NES... GET GOOD!

For a Star Wars games fan this is so frustrating…. If they want a major successful game Ubisoft and EA need to combine forces for Jedi 3 and put the open world / space traversal scale in that franchise. Give it slightly better story than Survivor had and wah lah you have a GOTY contender and a Star Wars game that can knock KOTOR down a peg as best Star Wars game ever made.
