Is starting Yu-Gi-Oh! still worth it nowadays? [Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters]

I got into the Anime back in early 2020, and it was one of the greatest decisions I ever made. I picked up the Manga from the start after I finished Battle City in the anime, and it’s now my favourite Manga ever. I love the story, characters, art (dear god the Manga looks beautiful during Battle City and Millennium World). Some day I wish we could get a DM remake that actually follows the Manga properly. Maybe even update some of the Duels/Decks with current support cards so we aren’t having the King of Games play Feral Imp in his deck. Anyway, Yu-Gi-Oh is incredible, and def worth getting into.

Kazuki Takahashi was a great artist! A remake is something I yearn about for years. That would be the most insane remake if it follows the Manga in DSOD quality!

I don't care if anyone watches the original 1998 Yugioh and Duel Monsters first. As long as they read the source manga that is the true story and characters Takahashi envisioned, plus his manga canon sequels Transcend Game and The Dark Side of Dimensions, respectively, that are classified by me as the "Kazuki Takahashi canon". Once you finish the manga, you won't see the series the way because you know all the answers and truths the anime did not adapt and changed. Lastly, the JP version of the original manga volume release is the only version (aside from the Shonen Jump issues) that is uncensored. The bunkoban rerelease (in color, plus has a couple new scenes in the final arc) has a tiny bit of censorship and for some illogical reason they changed the original blue Black Magician design from the 1st 59 chapters to the DM anime design starting with Duelist Kingdom, and obviously the English version of the manga has censorship plus localization terms as some sort of cross promotion with the Konami card game. Just so future readers know what's what beforehand.
