A robot vacuum is something I want but do not need. Great video. Something for me to add to my wishlist until the next one comes out and replaces it!

Thanks for the feedback. That makes sense.

For some people, like me, not having the mop function is one of the biggest advantages (apart from size).

This video made this an easy buy for me. Seems like a great fit for our basement (larger than an office, but simple layout). Even if Matter doesn't progress past a on/off switch, I don't think I'll mind (mainly just want the convenience of letting this run when we head out for the day). Thanks for covering!

Really like what I’ve seen of the SwitchBot vacs. Highly considering the S10 this holiday season. Yours is set to a time of day, but can you have it run when no one is home, or when the last person leaves, and pause the job when the first person arrives home? I know those are options in Apple HomeKit, just curious how integrated it is. Maybe a wait to see with iOS18.

Yeah we'll see what iOS 18.x brings with vacuum support probably later this year. I could have it clean when I leave. Another way to slice that would be at a specific time if no one is home then vacuum. That might be more reliable

If the vacuum gets stuck somewhere, is it smart enough to notice (after awhile) that it's stuck and just give up? Or does it keep trying until someone notices and stops it. The upstairs of my house has almost no rugs and I don't need a robot to do mopping for me, so there's a lot for me to like about this. It's still a bit more than I'd want to spend, but maybe I'll catch it on sale someday. And I want to wait until we see how well this works with the matter support in the newer iOS. Given that this can be tied to a SwitchBot 2 hub there's another option which occurs to me. I assume you could program one of the buttons on the hub to trigger this to vacuum the floors. I don't need my upstairs floor to be cleaned every day, but on the days when I want it to clean I could hit a button on the switchbot hub as I leave for work. That way it's trivial to start up, and it's running during the day when there's plenty of light.

Sounds like a reasonable use case and it should work with the hub button. Otherwise anything that can flip the “switch” for it in HomeKit. If it gets stuck and can’t get out it stays there and saves power and sends you a notification asking for help.

What other matter options are there? I haven’t seen any yet apart from this!

The latest high end Roomba will supposedly have matter support.

Good question - ECOVACS X2 Combo as well as the latest Roomba and Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra.

If it’s like the s10 then I would avoid. The s10 continually has software issues and customer support at switchbot is almost none existent. Do not buy

Tiny Vacuum, Big Price! $450 for this just doesn't make sense for the majority of consumers. Especially when there are much more affordable options with better specs. Also, having' matter' does not move the needle for a product like this.

Having Matter means it works in Apple Home which is a big deal to many of my subscribers. While $450 is a lot of money on its own, it's a third of the cost of most Matter vacuums.
