I can speak from experience that tartar stuff is very very Bad!! I regret so much that I waited years to get that stuff off and get my regular cleanings,,, my only excuse was that I suffered from severe anxiety at the dentist but thank goodness it's gotten better 🙏🏻 leaving that stuff on there for years was big big bad mistake 😢

Same, my parents never flossed or went to the dentist since they were very poor when they were young and they didn't need flossing due to their diet so I can't blame them for spoiling me and not knowing the cosequences of sweets and soda

Did you lose any teeth after cleaning

@@KamzyOfficalchannel thank goodness no but it did harm my gums so badly ,, I think that stuff that builds up around the the teeth can also cause gum recession because that's what caused really bad gum recession in the area where it was the most plaque

After the removal did the gums come back eventually or was recessed permanently
@daysoftheboo4 ай бұрын
@@wg1751 after the removal the damage was already done , currently I'm getting treatment every 3 months for periodontal because I saw the periodontist and he said I do have a mild case of gum disease but hopefully if I continue treatment and taking care of my gums from the outside with good oral hygiene and take care of my gums from the inside with good nutrition , hopefully my gum will get better and I don't have to have a gum graph

I had *terrible* calculus bridge on my lower fronts I thought they will fall out as they're removing it. The hygienist was very very careful, it still felt like she took a jackhammer to my teeth but in reality she really knew how to handle it. They did feel loose a bit but stabilized somewhat they might have to be removed this year due to other circumstances. But had I refused to get the cleaning sessions done they would fall out and cause me more and more problems anyway.

I took calculus in school and got a "D." That's why I never became a dental hygienist. I once worked in a restaurant. Customers liked tartar sauce with seafood. I don't think we got it from scraping it off of people's teeth. :/

Do crowded teeth have a likely chance of being loose? Or as strong as if they were straight
@bridgetscotney88375 ай бұрын
Overcrowding can make it more difficult to keep clean due to diffulty reaching all the areas especially if they overlap other teeth. It is really important to attend your appointments with a dental hygienist who will clean them professionally and more importantly teach you how to keep them clean at home. Hope this helps.

Fun Fact: Calculus (or tartar) is a protective outer layer for your teeth. Cavities have to get through the calculus before they get to your teeth. I didn't have any built up on my back teeth, and I got cavities on two of those and had to have them removed. The dentist doesn't want you to know this because they have a vested interest in your paying them at least twice a year. They'll tell you whatever they have to get you into that office to pay them.
@TeethTalkАй бұрын
Calculus/tartar isn’t a protective layer-it’s quite the opposite! Calculus forms when plaque (a sticky film of bacteria) hardens on your teeth. While it might feel tough, it acts as a rough surface where more plaque and bacteria can accumulate, making it harder to clean your teeth properly. Those bacteria feed on sugars in your diet and produce acids as waste (yes, bacteria poop!). These acids are what damage your tooth enamel and lead to cavities. When calculus builds up, it creates pockets around your teeth where bacteria thrive, making it easier for cavities to form beneath or around the tartar. Regular dental cleanings help remove this hardened buildup to prevent decay and gum disease. Dentists recommend cleanings not to make money, but because unchecked tartar can lead to serious dental issues like cavities, infections, and even tooth loss. So, keeping calculus off your teeth is one of the best ways to protect your teeth! Hope this helps!

@DezFay3 ай бұрын
For how long? I’ve never had a cleaning before..
@AngelBell-91Ай бұрын
No matter what you have is it very rare for your teeth to become loose and fall out from going a while without a cleaning? Jw because I have had one very busy year so was unable to go to the dentist for a cleaning for a little over a year. I stressed like crazy for weeks since I thought I had periodontal disease or gingivitis. Come to find out I just needed a cleaning so I stressed and cried for no reason.

When I had my most recent cleaning - my hygienist said my flossing is good for the easy to reach teeth, but for the teeth in the back I am not getting in there good enough - and she called out numbers 3 and 4 when they did a check on all my teeth. I now have to come back for a cleaning every 3 months. She suggested interdental brushes, and a waterpik - but I did not get a clear answer. Would these be used in ADDITION to my normal string floss? Is it normal for there to be bleeding with the interdental brushes, or am I using them wrong?
@riskiriskidots500611 ай бұрын
You should do all of them Brush floss and waterpik You basically want to disrupt the bacteria growth Hope it gets better 💙

i had horrific life-ruining teeth movement after removing a tiny bit of tartar and my dentist didn't catch my wisdom teeth pushing my teeth out of my mouth, now i'm going from perfect, never needing braces straightness to teeth removal and years of braces at 29 T_T
@Teenywing Жыл бұрын
You are misinformed or unaware of how teeth move. A bit of tarter being removed was absolutely NOT the cause of anything. Also, your teeth do not move overnight. It takes a long time. You would have had years of cleanings (most people go twice per year) to discuss wisdom teeth and the pros and cons of removal. It’s your responsibility to keep track of your body, get care and look after things. You can only blame so much on others sms I sm willing to bed your dentist mentioned wisdom teeth way before they became a problem. Maybe you weren’t listening.

I got some dental tools and removed it myself. I know this wasn't smart, but was my only option at the time. I still need a deep cleaning below the gumline, but l did remove the tartar. I was gentle with myself obviously and took several days while watching TV to slowly work on each tooth. It eventually all wore away. No, my teeth didn't fall out either. The tartar was so calcified it felt like tooth, but it wasn't.
