I’m 31 male healthy guy, today I had deep cleaning treatment and during treatment when I spit out in between there’s more blood and even doctor said I lost a more blood than others the treatment is some how uncomfortable with pain and after completing the treatment I fainted and the feeling was there for almost 30 minutes and then I came home and slept. First time I experienced like this for a dental treatment. Before also I did normal teeth cleaning and root canal as well. I bear the pain root canal more than this at that time but I don’t know what caused me to faint and dizzy that long. It was really terrible feeling today. Note : I don’t have BP, diabetes I’m a healthy guy who lifts weight regularly And eats healthy.

Hi everyone! I am a 28 year old guy who has serious dental anxiety that kept me from the dentist for atleast the last 10 years. Needless to say, I had some SERIOUS plaque build up. Well today I had a deep cleaning just like this! My bottom front teeth were in a very bad shape I could basically not see them. And i’m alive!!! I feel better about my teeth than I ever have. There was almost no pain in most places while doing the procedure, any of the pain came from the scraping but that was just more uncomfortable than anything. If you’re having any second thoughts, please trust me on this. I am someone who suffers from anxiety and panic attacks very easily and it REALLY isn’t that bad. Like seriously, it was not at all what I thought it would be. You can do this!!!!! Don’t talk yourself out of it, you have an opportunity to be brave!

I just had my first deep cleaning this week, they cleaned my whole mouth in 2 visits. I went in with no idea what to expect, definitely didn’t expect them to give me shots in my mouth! But it wasn’t that bad at all. A bit uncomfortable, and my gums are still a bit tender, but I am SO glad I got it done. I haven’t been consistent about my dental visits and I’m definitely going to get serious about my oral care and checkups from now on. I wanted to see exactly what they did, which is why I’m here. If you need this treatment, GET IT. You won’t regret it, and your teeth and gums will really appreciate a fresh clean slate.

Trying to get both to 100 percent but old habits die hard. But she said everything looked great and keep doing what I'm doing. The student who did my cleaning did a nice job, and her teacher told me that my case was a great experience for the student because when the student goes into practice, she may have to help other people like me. hi guys! 16 year old here. I havent been able to go to a dentist for around 7 years and, due to a number of factors, have barely been brushing my teeth at all. However, I finally managed to find a place that was willing to accept me! They had to x-ray my teeth because they were so dirty and full of plaque and tartar that they couldn’t see the actual issues with my teeth. I’m having a deep clean today, in about 2 hours, so i’m going to use this little comment section as a diary about my dental journey. Reading through all these comments has made me feel a lot better about my deep clean, so thank you everyone! So far, I need 2 teeth removed and 2 fillings, so i’ll update here to inform you all how those go in the future. For now, wish me luck at my deep clean!

I DID IT! i didnt even feel a thing! they didnt numb me or anything! it took literally less than 6 minutes and the only uncomfortable thing about it was the small mirror tool they were using to keep my mouth open wide enough for them to do the work! I was genuinely terrified, shaking and everything, about to have a panic attack, but it wasnt bad at all! I have to admit, though, my teeth feel weird physically when im running my tongue along them. I can feel each individual tooth, which is weird for me because my plaque build up was pretty bad so all my teeth kind of merged together in a weird plaque-y mess. they feel so much better now theyve been done, and i can actually breathe between my teeth at the front! my bottom front teeth were, unsurprisingly, the worst, but they dont hurt at all. If anything, they feel strange. It kind of feels like my dentist has shaved/filed my teeth down. Some parts feel smooth, like where the build up was really bad on the bottom inside of my bottom teeth, while other parts, mainly the inside tops of my bottom teeth, feel rough, a bit like sandpaper. Overall, it was pretty much painless, but there was a bit of blood. Im honestly surprised there was any blood at all. I didnt feel any pain, so spitting the blood out at the end was quite a surprise to me. honestky it made me feel kinda badass, like a superhero in an edit lol. Also, I was really scared of them suctioning a certain tooth on my bottom right because i have an exposed nerve in the cavity i have in it and its really painful when i make any sucking motions on it but fortunately the suction machine is a lot bigger than i thought it would be so they held it above my mouth and it sucked from everywhere in my mouth at the same time, so there wasnt one particular area that was put under more pressure than anywhere else. They kept the suction machine in the same place for the whole time and i didnt feel anything in my throat, aside a little bit of water that was quickly suctioned back up.

I hyped myself up for weeks before my deep clean appointment. I was nervous about the pain and the lidocaine shot and it drove me crazy! Granted me teeth weren't all too bad with some very beginning stages of recession, this procedure does not hurt! It's just uncomfortable at certain points from the scraping sounds and some gum sensitivity from the cleaning but nothing unbearable and im a baby when it comes to pain. The lady gave me a topical type of numbing which looks like a tiny needle probe that she sticks down between each tooth's gemlike and squirts it in but it is completely bearable! No numbing shot was needed. If you need this done, do it and don't hesitate. This experience has made me confident and comfortable with dental work all over again. It’s not a bad procedure, trying to get it done and get back into the habit of going to the dentist every 6 months instead of once every several years. Take care of your oral hygiene!

If anyone needs this done and doesn't have insurance I highly recommend a dental savings plan. It is a discount program, yes you pay a bit to sign up but all the fees for your dental visits will be at a reduced cost. I never knew this was a thing. It has already paid for itself. Considering I have dental trauma, I hadn't seen a dentist in my adult life. But this year I finally bit the bullet, the plan is saving a lot for this procedure too. :)

Dental Receptionist here. So SRPs are done in such a way, as the mouth is divided in to 4 quadrants. Your dental hygienist will typically do 2 quadrants or half or your mouth in a session. How they divide this up, depends on your hygienist. So you will typically have this done in 2 sessions unless you have a particularly severe case. If you have any questions on how your particular hygienist is going to “ divide and conquer”, so to speak, feel free to ask them. They have no problem answering these questions.

21 year old here, just had half my mouth done today, here’s the reality 1. The injections aren’t bad, but aren’t fun, I got 4 total for my right side, but once it’s done it’s done 2. They might use the pressurized water thing first, just convince yourself it’s just water and it becomes more comfortable, it was very un-nerving when my dentist started Overall it’s a very uncomfortable sensation from start to finish, it is however, bearable You got this

Please get this done if your dentist suggests it. I was terrified at first. And yes it feels weird, but it shouldn't hurt. You need to floss everyday because plaque accumulate fast and using a dental scaler to remove accumulated plaque can affect your teeth enamel which is the protective layer your teeth have. I love this video because keeping your teeth healthy and clean has a direct impact in your overall health. I struggled all my life looking for ways to remove plaque. I have used all kinds of flossing devices to reduce cavities and doctor visits. But enough is enough, so I developed Easy Flosser and recently the Gap Picker to make flossing sessions easier than ever. Do not wait until your teeth turn as those shown on this video, it cost a lot of money, time and it affects your overall health so NEVER STOP FLOSSING OR CLEANING BETWEEN TEETH.

I've had this done twice in my life. Onve 4 yrs ago and they did my entire mouth in 1 appointment. Highly do not recommend this unless you are fully sedated. I'm currently in the process of having it done but the dentist I'm seeing now has chosen to break it down into 4 appointments. Much more manageable. I have several places that are 5 and above. Not good I know. But like many I don't see a dentist regularly because most are hacks and scam/con artists out to rip people off. But so far this dentist seems honest (aside from telling me I "NEEDED" a laser treatment during scaling to control bleeding (which I have learned as we go through this process was BS). Overall I'm satisfied how it's going so far. 1 more appointment and we'll be good to go for a while hopefully

When it was lockdown on 2020, I flossed my front most teeth and it bled a bit but I shrug it off. However, after a few weeks later, it got inflammed and there was a white bump on the front most part of my gum between the teeth. A couple more months pass and it has become swollen and was tender red and eating food which has a bit of acidity in them especially vinegar would irritate it and made it hurt to the point that I had to put an ice cube for a minute or so to let it settle down from the irritation. Just this february, I had this procedure done and boy was I so happy in just a couple of days after cleaning, the swelling was gone about maybe 70%! If you haven't been to a dentist for a while, this procedure is a must, especially if you don't floss at least 2 - 3 times a week.

Im 23 yrs old. I spent my whole childhood in and out of orthodontist and dentist offices and after high school I just gave up on myself. This past year I really realized how bad I fumbled. I tried to just keep going despite the pain but here last week my wisdom teeth were hurting so bad I just wanted to die. I don’t have insurance or anything so going was extra worrisome for me. I’m ashamed of the fact I let my mouth get to this state it’s in but I went to the dentist and off rip he said we’re gonna need to extract your wisdom teeth and two molers. And was only charged 240$!!!!!!!!!!’ FOR 6 teeth extractions!!!! Now I’m recovering this week and next week I’m going in for fillings and god knows what next.. root canals and partials, deep cleanings. After everything my dentist told me I’ll only owe 1500$. I’m getting almost 7,000$ worth of work done to my mouth for a fraction of what other people would have charged me. I’m beyond grateful rn. I broke down when I got in the dentist and I think the guy took pity on me idk. All I know is I’m going to do my BEST this go around to have a mouth I’m proud of. Just had this done this morning (in the UK). The dentist applied numbing gel to the top and bottom gums. 20 minutes later, the whole of my mouth had had the deep clean. I would describe it as a more vigorous clean than the dentist would normally give you, but not overly uncomfortable at all. My dentist offered to do the whole mouth in two appointments and offered a needle to numb the mouth, but I opted to have it all done in one go without a needle. If you're worried about this - don't be! I'm now 5 hours after the clean and I've had a normal lunch and my gums aren't sore at all.

My dentist who i see regularly every 6 months said i require a deep cleaning now. Which was ridiculous to me when I take care of my teeth on the daily, and if they are doing good regular cleanings on my teeth, its a shock i now need a deep clean. I am going for a second opinion, because of that but also because of the fact that there is a chance your gums won't reattach after the procedure and they didn't even tell me that risk (or any risks tbh). Don't be afraid to ask another dentist for an opinion, especially if it seems like the original dentist is all about $$$

I'm 26 and had mine done today. It was excruciatingly painful. Probably the worst pain I have experienced in my life was when I had it done without anasthetic. Today is was still painful-yes my gums were in a bad state and even with 6 points of Local Anasthetic which numbed my face, It was still quite painful, but not nearly as bad as without numbing. Don't listen to people on here saying they had no pain. Everyone's gums are different, you might have borderline gum disease and weaker gums, so chances are it'll hurt and bleed a lot more. Another thing, there can be quite a lot of blood. So just keep rinsing after, and there is soreness too so just eat soft foods and you'll be pain free within half a day hopefully. It is one of those things you just have to do though, you're way better off getting it done and staying on top of teeth hygiene. Stay brave and the feeling of clean and polished teeth is rewarding.
