This video covers a thought provoking topic that has been on my mind for the last few years. I believe that Technology is hurting our skills. I am not a conspiracy theorist, or someone who doesn't want technology advancement, but I am acutely aware that there are challenges that come with the benefits.
These are just my thoughts...comment on what you think!

Hey Yosef great Video! I watch these Teslas full driving mode videos and the car is driving 99 percent itself. In the next decade I think insurance companies will refuse insuring human drivers as self driving mode will be much safer. Driving skills won't matter anymore. Your kids might not even need to know how to drive just how to operate the car systems. Unbelievable

Hey Amir! That's a really great point! It reminds me of the movie I Robot with Will Smith. The robots decided we were a danger to ourselves and took over. It's an interesting post we are going down, but I wonder to what extent it will go. I think there are a lot of moral judgements that need to be thought through with self driving, in terms of self preservation vs the greater good, and fault association with accidents (software or hardware companies to be held responsible). Issuance companies have a lot to work through to figure all that out. I'm curious what skills we will value enough to maintain over time vs the ones that will become obsolete. It's an interesting topic for me. Thank you for sharing your thoughts!

Loved this thought provoking video Yosef! Basic skills & the ability to think clearly, problem solve & adapt on your own are important to not only have but to exercise to continue to keep active. I am forever indebted to you for teaching me how to effectively and manually use my mirrors to back into any spot! Thinking skills are essential for clarity on all topics. Keeping the mind active is important so that we may intentionally use the benefits of technology but not be totally reliant on them at the expense of self awareness. We need to have the ability to use authentic practical reasoning to problem solve.

Thank you so much! I'm really happy you enjoyed this video and my help with the mirrors 😁! I truly believe that we always need to be aware of the effects of change so we can engage it the right way. If not, it's easy to let the changes dictate their effect on us.

Question is where do you get parts for vacuums or if you need a nice button for flannel shirts? Shows like Seinfeld or Simpsons. Yeah we need to improve our skills

One of the things with car safety is that for the last 20 years we've put all our effort into making it safer for the people inside the car, and they've become way more dangerous to people outside the car. Cameras everywhere are a necessary band-aid now because the A pillars are so wide that there are giant blind spots almost directly in front of the driver. The average hood height is so high that most drivers can no longer see a child standing 5 feet in front of their car. You might as well forget about seeing anything behind you. In North America, we've largely decided that the average office commuter needs an F-150 to get groceries in. I agree that a lot of the tech is causing long term harm to our basic ability to navigate and pay attention, but our cars have been getting bigger and dumber for a long time, and the manufacturers are trying to use it to cover up how out of control things have gotten.

Thank you so much for your comment! I completely agree! I think cars are deliberately being designed so we have to rely on the tech to keep us safe and maneuver effectively. Who knows what the future holds!
