Because numbers alone don't mean automatic HOF credentials.... which is why Lynn Swann is in the HOF...with 336 receptions, 5, 462 yards, and 51 TD's....but...Drew Pearson isn't ....with 489 receptions, 7,822 yards, and 48 TD's...Swann never went over 1000 yards receiving in any season he played....Pearson did it twice

Yes but Swann played 40 years ago, different era. You have to talk relative to your era and Swann was one of the greatest of his time. I agree numbers alone don't get you in but also having an impact does which further helps TO has he had major impact on the success of several teams most notably the 49ers, Eagles, and Cowboys. They all had greater success with him then they did after he left.
