I put him ahead of the likes of Brad Johnson, Trent Dilfer and Jim McMahon (QBs I feel only have rings due to their defense). I do agree with the notion he’s not first ballot but definitely deserves a nod at the HOF.

One of the better QB careers ever but because he has no rings he’s just forgotten? So stupid. So let’s just forget about Charles Barkley in basketball and let’s ignore Dan Marino. Eli Manning wasn’t a very good QB who appears to win two rings with a very good defense and great play by his part, I can’t pretend he didn’t play very well during those runs. However, I cannot just brush aside how pedestrian he looked for the vast majority of his career just because of these moments. This isn’t the Hall of Charity for the average or very good, you’re supposed to be a transcendent talent with a transcendent career and I just don’t see that with him. Eli didn’t beat Brady twice in the superbowl… Eli’s defense did. It’s easy to win and have game winning drives when your defense holds the opponent to 14 pts & then 17 pts and all you have to do is score more than 14 pts & 17 pts. I can tell the story of the 2000s without Eli, I just can’t tell it without the giants stopping an undefeated season but I can tell it without Eli per se.

I've never been a huge fan of Eli's. The first time I watched him outside of a score ticker or highlights was against LSU, and he was awful. If the Chargers had drafted him, I think he would have had a Blake Bortles type career. His defense and running backs are what got him his Super Bowls. He never went out there and threw for 400 yards and 5 TDs to win games, so I would say he doesn't belong.

Here’s the thing with Eli Manning. He doesn’t deserve the NFL Hall of Fame at all because in his overall NFL career, sucked in general, pretty much because in his regular season career, he was terrible BUT I will say this, Eli Manning is BY FAR is the best playoff player in NFL history, by far the best Super Bowl player in NFL history and quite frankly the by far the best postseason player in NFL history. For some reason he just couldn’t play like that in the regular season. He literally did so bad in his regular season career, that the two time Super Bowl champion and mvp doesn’t even come close to deserving the Hall of Fame. Sorry but it’s the truth.

Led the league in interceptions 3x. Only made the pro bowl 4x, and no one ever considered Eli Manning a top 5 QB in the league or one of the best. We all saw those games, it’s not like Eli lit it up in the super bowls. .500 career record, never being considered one of the best during your time, leading league in picks multiple times is not 1st ballot worthy. Thats for the best of the best like Brady, Peyton, Montana, Marino, Moon, Brees, Mahomes etc. would be disrespectful to say eli in that class

The Jeter comparison is interesting. Manning is all time based on his good offensive stats/accolades (TDs, Yards, completions, rings, playoff performances etc.) and can be knocked for his bad stuff (interceptions, winning percentage etc.). Jeter is all time due to his offensive performances (average, rbis, clutch hits, rings etc.) and can be knocked for being arguably the worst defensive shortstop of all time. Eli is a lock first ballot dude just like Jeter was. Stephan A. just likes to yell and stomp around for the camera
