I haven’t had any safety critical disengagements with 13.2.2. Not even close. I do get the ‘sun in the cameras’ warning and have to take over for that. That’s irritating but I’m assuming they have a solution for that. It is absolutely a much better driver than 95% of humans, IMO. I use it everywhere I go bc I know it’s a better driver than me. Of course, I monitor diligently. It would be great to know what James’s take is in the Nvidia presentation.

The nvidia’s hardware is there, the automaker still have to come up with a self driving software architecture, how it’s train how it gather data. It’s not a sure thing the approve they come up with doesn’t work. If they sign up now they are just getting to first base! When Tesla drop Nvidia system to now is how far ahead they are. Tesla solution will be much cheaper, because it’s in house . Automaker using Nvidia can’t compete with Tesla in price or time to market.

Jensen knocked it out of the park. I’m plenty in on TSLA. As bull as one gets. It’s been pretty much a full-on defensive-mode blitzkrieg from Tesla content providers since. Let’s face it, Jensen kicked ass and mopped up the floor with anyone who holds a sense of competitiveness with NVDA. This space will get over it. Give Jensen his full due without the, “but this and bit that.” Tesla will win big in the end. Jensen gets the gold for this one tho. I admire him more because of his presentation. He’s a killer. I loved it.

An SDK (software development kit) allows the user to develop an application program (in the old days..it can be a C, C++, etc. So what NVIDIA is selling/marketing is the IDE/SDK to create the application to do the AV program. Now TESLA has been doing this for at least 5 years now, in-house, vertically integrated (cuz they make the cars, TESLA also has the inference engine in each vehicle, and the billions of miles in REAL world data (NOT simulated) and trained their vehicles through an AI end-to-end neural network. Can these other car companies replicate what TESLA has done in half a decade in a few short months? Your guess is as good as mine😂

Nvidia a threat to Tesla Optimus more than FSD. Tesla doesn't have training data advantage in humanoid robots, and bots don't learn on their own! At least FSD doesn't. My 2 cents is Tesla needs to a) manufacture a gazllion Optimus bots ASAP b) get teleoperation-based training kits in hands of developers across wide range of applications c) incentivize to share/pool training data to create network effects. Nvidia network effect in humanoid robots will be formidable. My money is on Tesla in FSD, especially robotaxi, but Nvidia could dominate AI ecosystem in humanoid bots. Thoughts?
