Drive the Z and see what a good car it is. Is it old and not up to spec with some newer cars yes it is. But show me a 9 yr old car that is. The mustang guys always try to talk down on the Z, but the car isn't even in your category. Backseat vs no backseats. Just because a car is old that doesn't mean its not fun to drive. I get it why buy something new with old tech, but then why do we restore old cars? Buy what you love and love what you buy. Who cares what someone else thinks. I have a 09 Nismo Z I use my iPhone for a GPS which most people do and I still get people young and old, men and woman compliment me on my old car. She's red and looks great and still better than a lot of cars that are new and on the road. I spent about $2K with bolt ons and me installing some myself (test pipes, exhaust, 3" Air intakes, Upper and lower intake manifolds, headers, 4.08 gears) and a few other things and she's reliable never had an issue with her, and yes it is fast.

I had a rental 370Z Roadster whioe visiting N.Carolina and some guy in Challenger Scat Pack decided to have some fun with me on the highway and let's just say he didn't get what he was hoping for. 370Z really surprised me how fast it was and with starting price just under 30k, it's probably fastest new car we can get these days. Also, it handled Blue Ridge Mountains roads as champ.

@@thedriver5462 - The Z is a wonderful handling and extremely fun car to drive for what it is. But I've driven both and the raw torque of that Challenger is monstrous and on a highway if he really wanted to blow by you, he could've. You should do that more often, the renting sports cars for a weekend thing. I do it all the time, fun as hell and the Z is one of my favorites. Try a Challenger next time, if you're in Georgia, the Budget at the airport has the 6.2 Challengers and Chargers.

The KZbin car review grind is a tough job. We owned a couple of Nissans through the years. One of my favorite cars was a used Nissan Sentra we picked up for a song back in the 90's. That was a fun car to go bombing around town in; it was easy to park and I never worried about any idiot banging its doors.

I got this car for under 30k. I was considering mustang gt and camaro ss but ended up with the Z because it was more affordable. This car is more than 10k cheaper than the GT and the SS. Of course, this car is not as nice as the other two that I have mentioned. But, in my opinion, this car is worth it for the price I got. I have been waiting for a remodel but that will at least take a few more years so I decided to get this while I am still college. I did not like how dull the interior looked on other trims. But the yellow in Heritage edition added some uniqueness to the interior. Hoever, the interior is still outdated compared to its competitors but the car is perfect for me as a daily driver. The fuel efficiency is not that bad either. I might turn this car into a project car when I can afford another car as a daily in the future. Nissan needs to step up their game

I will never forget the first time I saw one of the 370zs parked on the street from the rear. I immediately thought I was looking at a Porsche 911 and stopped dead in my tracks, did a double take and realized I was looking at a 370z. If they bring out a new one I hope they don't mess up the styling. Personally I think this car is the best looking Z car they ever made. Sure the interior looks dated, but the centrally located tach just SCREAMS Porsche 911 as does the simple driver focused interior before infotainment became a big deal.

Okay first off this car is based off of the "base model" 370Z. Second thing everything that he said reflects exactly what other people have said Here on KZbin about this base model car, and for the most part all the reviews of on the base model 370Z and not the upscale sport touring or Nismo models. For example the seats? In my opinion? They are a total disaster, and I say this because it is a sacrilege for a sports car to have cloth interior, and this car being a Base 370Z have equip that way! The other thing that he's mentioned early on in the preview was the fact that there was no aluminum pedals well, if you were driving a sport touring Edition he would have the aluminum pedals! Also he mentioned that the brakes we're barely adequate?! I agree you're not going to have the better brakes until you move up scale and by the Upperline sport touring Edition or at least the sport edition because some of the needed upgrades are included in those packages such as steering brakes more comfortable seats a much better stereo system excetera excetera just saying

The major reason why people think this car is old is because it is compared to muscle cars. You don't see WRX, BRZ, and Miata being called old even though those models hardly ever get updated performance-wise. Sure, their infotainment system is more up to date because there is no interior that's more outdated than 370Z's, but look at their performance. Those cars also go a very long time between refreshes. Miata barely has gotten a power bump to 180 hp, though that was achieved with higher revving. The 370Z was meant to be a mix of power and handling. I look at it as a poor man's Corvette. It was never meant to compete with Mustang and Camaro. It overpowers and out-grips the likes of BRZ, Miata, and WRX, but it's not as agile due to being heavier. If you look at it that way, it still is a competitive car even by today's standards. Not everything is about power. If you want power, buy the lowest trim of 5.0 and mod the hell out of it.

A proper 2 seat sports car for the price of average sedan. Remember the base Z will do .99G's cornering 0-60 in 5 seconds, 155mph when you get to the governor. Plenty quick for me.

Excellent video Joe! I have a 2012 370Z NISMO and I personally like the feel of the steering and it doesn't seem too light to me. The rear window is very difficult to see out of and the car I have has a factory wing on the trunk which reduces visibility even more but over time I have gotten used to it. I absolutely dread trying to back out of a parking spot with this car because I can't see anything out of the tiny side window behind the passenger seat of the car. The clutch on my 2012 is very heavy and I'm glad to hear they have started putting a better clutch in the newer Z's . I also didn't know that Nissan has started putting SynchroRev Match in their Heritage Edition manual transmission cars and I'm glad they did. It used to be only available in the Sport or NISMO versions.

Instead of calling it an anniversary edition they should had call it the cheap sport car edition. Totally desapointed with nissan and their way to keep cuting corners. Err, maybe because for the money theirs nothing like it? I get bored of cars so quick, one minute I think "wow", now that's a nice car, then the next it looks dated, but never with the Z.. It just has this attraction that makes me look at it still, even after all this time. I think the cars are for real enthusiasts, you get a 3.7 v6 to listen to and a shape you could polish all year. If you want it to drag race then throw a turbo on it. Personally, I'll just lay back in mine and listen to that 3.7 engine note. No one buys a car off the shelf and doesn't want to mod, no matter what car or your finances, I think this car is perfect to mod....Personally I'd do very little to it.

To me a retro 240 is the move for nissan.Just for the closure for enthusiasts . After that Nissan ( OR ANY SPORTS CAR MANUFACTURER) Should follow Porsche 911 lineage. Even tick more people OFF by keeping the 370 / 350 looks over all. Just lighten it , then lighten it! Up grade the materials . up date the details but keeping the same flavor of the 350/370. I keep saying 350/370 just because I think 350 had more space parameter ( although 370 was lighter) but the 350 was good for over all size. Just seems the 370 comes across as a saw off shot gun of a car compared to the 350. Id say stretch the 370 over the 350s dimensions make it lighter than the 370 ( needs to be alot lighter) and keep the 370. Design Q's but with 2025 design for , lights, dash , Seats ( nobody should be even talking about seat comfort in 2019) Also YOU CANT TALK ABOUT BRAKES........IF YOU HAVE NOT TALKED ABOUT THE TIRES!!! You talked about the wheels SPORTS CAR. Guys are more interested in what TIRE is fitted. That is your braking right there. Tell what tire is on there then we can talk about brakes. You can NEVER. Talk about Sports Car BRAKES with out talking about Tires fitted to the car. Very thorough review ....just missed TIRES.

This version is so outdated that all of the Nissan "updates" are now useless and are nearly ignored even with the starting price of the 2019 370Z at 30k . If an all new Z does not soon surface then Nissan will lose the opportunity for the introduction of the next Z to coincide with the 1969 anniversary of the 240Z. ...Nissan needs to return to a smaller engine ,more affordable version with an under 30k starting price. The technology exists for a nice DOHC inline 6 of ~2.0 to 2.4 liters, VVT, direct injection, high compression, dual exhaust ,maybe a turbo). Heck, they could even use the newest variable compression (VC) 4 cylinder engine out of the latest Altima. Chasing ever larger engine size and higher horsepower "numbers" are not the answers. This car has always been about affordability and value for the price. A smaller 6 (or even 4 cylinder) would help to keep the price down . Now is the time for the Z to return to its roots. and BTW- this is coming from someone who previously owned a 1972 240Z.( 1979 to 1981).

I own a 2015 370Z Nismo with cat back exhaust system. I love it...but now it is time for a new Nissan to replace the 370z. I want to see a new 2 door car, perhaps 150 kg lighter than the current model. It should be RWD hybrid with around 400 hp with an electric engine to ensure immediate torque. It should do 0-100 kph in around 4 seconds and come with either dual clutch or manual. The quarter mile should be under 11 seconds. What do you guys think?

there is rumor that Nissan Partner with Mercedes to develop the new Z car so the Merc SLC Roadster could share platform and engine with the new Z car. I sure hope it wont be a flop like what BMW and Toyota is doing as previously mentioned the new Z car is no longer NA but rather using twin turbos like the Q60 V6 3L Twin turbo engine. then there might be an entry level Z car with a 4 banger sourced from Nissan or prob the Merc AMG 4 cylinder used in the A45 AMG. Fingers crossed

Difference in price bracket , cars cost more to build in Japan because they have democatic socialism . If Nissan built a 400 HP turbo for a base z it would cost $40,000 in Usa

I loved this car ever since it became a 370z. The biggest and most simple zonk on it is the yellow interior touches. Someone out there might like it but I think it makes it look tacky. I wish all models came with a rear spoiler. It looks naked without it.
